I’m not usually one to get super excited about a random sequence of letters and numbers, but ‘A113′ is kind of an exception. It’s a code that appears in almost every Pixar movie, and we’ve never known why…until now. More
I like Pixar a lot, you guys, but I definitely wouldn’t say I’m as obsessed as some people are. But I still want to understand the way the Toy Story stories connect in this new theory, so let’s talk it out together. More
He’s the worst cowboy in the whole world. Not only because we never see him wrangle a single cow in the three movies, but also because he’s a douchebag. More
Happy birthday to Tom Hanks, a titan among men who turns fifty-seven today! If there’s one thing I know about Tom, it’s that he’s a celebrity and I’ve never met him, but if there are two things I know about him, it’s that he does a tonnnnn of movies spanning many genres. Also he has a kind face which, when mustachioed, I would absolutely trust to sell me life insurance as long as he rang my doorbell politely. More

Last night Lee Unkrich — who’s worked on the first two Toy Story movies and wrote Toy Story 3 — found the original list of over 200 possible titles for Toy Story. It turns out that Pixar just couldn’t land on a good title back in 1995, so in desperation they put out a request to any and all employees. “There’s a reason these were rejected, guys,” he warned. Despite Dumbo being sold and produced as a movie for children, I was so terrified of that movie that it took years for me to able to look at elephants without freaking out. Turns out that other people agree with me about the potential fear factor of kids’ movies, and plenty of YouTubers have recut trailers for movies like Mary Poppins and Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory to play up the eerie elements, adding some scary music for effect.
