Namely: WELL HELLO THERE, HENRY CAVILL. More
I’ve been hearing about this movie for so long, from the casting of godlike Brit Henry Cavill in the lead role to the first full trailer almost a year ago, that I’m really starting to wonder if the movie is ever going to come out. June 14? Do you promise, trailer people? Don’t you lie to me. I’m a devoted trailer fan. More
Unlike Patrick Bateman in American Psycho who was constantly needing to “return videos,” Nicolas Cage seems to have the exact opposite problem. More
Smallville! Metropolis! Lois Lane! Clark Kent! Both of Superman’s daddies! There’s a lot to process in this first full-length trailer for Zack Snyder‘s Man of Steel starring Henry Cavill and Amy Adams. More
You might not know it, but there are a lot of people who would find this mash-up of The Golden Girls and Super Friends perfectly hilarious. Go go “Super Golden Friends”! More
Obviously Henry Cavill is having the time of his life shooting Man of Steel, Zack Snyder‘s Superman movie. After all, he gets to perform awesome stunts, work with Amy Adams and Russell Crowe… And even with the whole Sucker Punch mess, Zack Snyder is still an imaginative director who brings out fantastic performances. But above all, Henry is genuinely psyched; you can tell that he’s a true fan. More
Nerd alert: New York Comic Con was this weekend. Now, I know what you’re thinking: “What? New York Comic Con? I’ve heard of San Diego Comic Con; but NEW YORK Comic Con? Nonsense!” But, you see, it is not nonsense. And for those of us who can’t haul arse all the way out to California every year, it’s a boon. And that, my friends, is why it deserves a drinking game. Were you at New York Comic Con this weekend? If yes, play along. If no, play along anyway. Drunk nerd are HILARIOUS. (Did I mention that I’M a drunk nerd? Because I am. Par-tay!) More
Herbert Chavez is a Filipino man with a huge Superman obsession. He swapped out a phone booth for an operating table, however, undergoing several plastic surgery procedures to become more like his hero. Herbert had his chin, lips and nose reshaped, his skin lightened, had work done on his eyes and even altered his thighs. More
Some images of new Superman Henry Cavill from the Man of Steel set have hit the web, and the 28-year-old English actor sure does wear his silly blue suit well. So well, in fact, that we can see every single one of his body parts. (We have X-ray vision and also his outfit is very form-fitting.) More

More goodies from the set of Zack Snyder‘s Superman movie: Photographer Gregory Zonsius caught this video of Lois Lane, a.k.a. Amy Adams, visiting Clark Kent’s hometown of Smallville, Kansas yesterday. There’s no dialogue since a train was passing by, but it’s Lois stopping at a gas station, presumably to ask for directions to the Kent farm. Also — Amy didn’t dye her hair! More
Remember yesterday, when we showed you Henry Cavill walking around on-set in his Clark Kent disguise, but there were no images of him in the Superman duds? It looks like Warner Bros. decided to capitalize on the timing and release the first photo of Cavill as his true self: the Man of Steel, wearing that famous suit. More
It’s only a matter of time before the Internet holds non-Photoshopped images of Henry Cavill wearing the Man of Steel’s suit. But until then, we’re very excited to see Cavill on-set looking quite the part as shy, unassuming reporter Clark Kent. (Even this isn’t him fully “suited up”: The Clark Kent we’re used to wears a jacket, hat, and of course, glasses.) More
Not all superheroes fight for the American way: The X-Men, for one, know that they’re despised by all of humanity. But there are a couple of caped crimefighters who are willing to lay down their lives for their country, or at least their city, to repay some sort of debt. So let’s compare four pro-American superheroes — Batman, Spider-Man, Superman, and Captain America — against American standards of self-sufficiency, loyalty, and relationships. I’ve tried my best not to include any canon from the comic books and go solely by the movies, so any generalizations or theories are supported by the visions of Christopher Nolan, Marc Webb, Sam Raimi, and others.
