Celebrities lead such different lives than most of us mere mortals that sometimes it can be hard to believe they’re real people. Guess what? They may not be! As a matter of fact, they might actually be aliens! While last week’s aliens were all most definitely fictional, I assure you that this weeks’ are one hundred percent real. Tread carefully, though; while some of these real celebrity aliens may want to be your friend, others may be out to take over the world one horrid pop song at a time. This handy guide should help you to separate the friendly aliens from the hostile ones. More
The universe is big. Really, really big. In fact, in the words of Douglas Adams, it’s staggeringly vast. And with a universe so big, one would hope that there’s life on other planets out there. Trouble is, thanks to films like Alien, we’re all very away of the fact that if there IS life on other planets, most of it probably wants to kill us. However, there’s also a lot of alien life that DOESN’T want to kill us. In fact, a lot of it really wants to be friends with us! Need a guide to recognizing the amiable aliens out there that are just waiting to have a drink with you? Read on! More
Star Wars is great. It really is. It was a game changer for science fiction, and without it, it’s almost certain that the genre wouldn’t have developed the way it has in the years since. Further more, I grew up in a family full of nerds, so of course Star Wars was a big part of that (the Holy Nerd Trifecta being, of course, Star Wars, Star Trek, and Lord of the Rings). But Star Wars mega-fans? No offense, but man, you guys freak me out. More

This week, I got to let my inner Trekkie shine, and by “shine” I mean, I basically freaked out and had a conniption fit BECAUSE I GOT TO INTERVIEW SOMEONE FROM STAR TREK!!!!! Dan Curry is a Visual Effects Producer and Supervisor, most famous for his work on Star Trek: The Next Generation, Star Trek: Deep Space Nine, Star Trek: Voyager and Enterprise. He has won seven Emmys, and currently serves as the Visual Effects Supervisor for Chuck, which airs Mondays at 8PM on NBC. Dan spoke to me from his home California, while I tried to not have a mild stroke. More

What is it about dystopian futures that are so endlessly fascinating? Maybe it’s the fact that so many of them are actually very real possibilities. That our world could turn into one of these can hit pretty close to home. Now that the news of Jennifer Lawrence landing the role of Katniss Everdeen in the upcoming film adaptation of Suzanne Collins’ The Hunger Games has had time to sink in, we here at Crushable HQ got to thinking about other dystopian novels we’d like to see on film. There have been loads of successful film adaptations in the past– Battle Royale, Children of Men, Blade Runner, and Never Let Me Go come to mind– but there are still so many that haven’t yet had the cinematic treatment they deserve. A. A. Milne’s Winnie-the-Pooh andThe House at Pooh Corner have been staples of children’s literature (and of Disney’s television and movies) for generations. There’s something about a bumbling, cuddly little teddy bear coming alive and having all sorts of madcap adventures with his neighboring toys and their human friend that’s always appealing, and subsequently, it would seem difficult to improve on the idea. But allow me to introduce you to artist James Hance’s brilliant creation: Wookie the Chew. More
