Topic: Sammi and Ronnie
Over the weekend, TMZ reported that Vinny Guadagnino was spotted packing up his stuff and moving out of the Jersey Shore house. He reportedly said that he was “burned out,” which makes sense considering the cast went straight from Italy to Point Pleasant without taking a break in filming. There have also been rumors that Vinny got into a fight with another member of the cast (I’m guessing either Ronnie or The Situation, since Vinny and Pauly seem to be really tight and Pauly was seen helping Vinny pack). Vinny’s now back in Staten Island with his mom, who is probably ironing his underwear, making him food, and telling him what a special snowflake he is. But are there other reasons Vinny might have left the show? More
MTV is wasting no time getting the most possible footage out of the original Jersey Shore cast. The gang flew straight from Florence (where they filmed season 4) back to Seaside Heights (where they’re filming season 5). Based on these pictures, we already have some idea where the probably-final season of the blockbuster reality show is headed. More
Although I’ve been suspicious for some time now that the lackluster Italy footage might signal the end of Jersey Shore, MTV has now confirmed an end date for their hit reality show. The gang returned from Italy last week and headed straight to Seaside Heights, where they will film a fifth and final season. After that, the show will go on, but with an entirely new – and probably not as good – cast. I think MTV made the right call, as the show gets more and more scripted and forced each season. More
I love to hate new addition Melissa Gorga on Real Housewives of New Jersey, but every time I watch another scene with her and husband Joe Gorga I keep thinking I’ve seen all this shit somewhere before. And finally I’ve figured it out: they’re basically Ronnie Ortiz-Magro and Sammi Giancola from Jersey Shore, the married with kids edition. More
To the surprise of absolutely no one, Jersey Shore‘s gruesome twosome Sammi Giancola and Ronnie Ortiz-Magro are back on. Several paparazzi photos from Florence, where the cast is filming the next season of the series, show the couple hugging, holding hands, and generally engaging in a lot of annoying PDA. Combined with the rumors that Ronnie and The Situation got into a fight earlier this week about something related to Sammi, it looks we’re in for a lot of the same bullshit this season that we had to deal with last season. JWoww, Pauly D, Snooki and the rest of the Jersey Shore cast finally made it to Italy. But what do we have to look forward to next season? Let’s see if these photos provide any clues into what’s happening while the Jersey Shore gang is filming in Florence. More
I go back and forth on The Situation – sometimes I think he’s an instigator, but then I remember how he was the only person to get between Sammi and Ronnie when it looked like Ronnie was going to hit her, and I think he’s secretly a good dude. The Situation’s dad, though? Straight up douche. Frank Sorrentino – who Sitch says was physically abusive – has made a series of expletive-laden YouTube videos calling out his son. More

Last season on Jersey Shore, Sammi Giancola‘s maybe-friendship maybe-hookup with Arvin Lal caused even more drama than usual in her match-made-in-hell relationship with Ronnie Ortiz-Magro. Arvin gave an interview to Brown Girl about his experience on the show. Interesting thing I learned: Indian-American people can be Guidos too! More
After three closely-packed-together seasons of Jersey Shore, the show is starting to wear a little bit thin. Most of the last season centered around Sammi Giancola and Ronnie Ortiz-Magro‘s horrible codependent relationship instead of around the house jokes and clubbing scenes that made the show a hit in the first place. Now, Jersey Shore is going on the road and filming a season in Italy. It was an interesting concept, but I think it’s going to fail spectacularly. More
By this point, most audiences have a pretty good sensibility about reality TV shows not being 100 percent ‘real.’ Episodes are edited and aired out of order, and people often stir up drama or amplify their reactions in order to get more camera time. But when something truly real happens on a reality show, it makes for incredibly compelling television. More
It’s the season finale of Jersey Shore. Although I think the first season was so great it’ll be hard to top, I think that the Shore is where this show needs to be. The Miami season felt weird and artificial, but here there aren’t luxe clubs or palm trees. Ultimately, I just want to see roided-up Guidos and Guidettes get drunk, hook up, eat pizza, and yell at each other, and that’s what this show does better than anyone else. I miss it already. Bring on Italy and the spinoffs! More
This week’s MVP isn’t MVP – it’s Dan, the owner of the Shore Store. It looks like the season is coming to a close, because all the housemates are finishing up their jobs at the Store in spectacularly lame fashion. Dan is probably printing money from the publicity of being associated with Jersey Shore and having the kids in the shop – even if they’re useless and pretending to be locked in the bathroom – is the best publicity he could ask for. Dan gets more airtime this week than he has the entire rest of the season put together, and even though he is stuck playing the straight man I’d watch twelve hours of him before I’d watch a second of Sammi and Ronnie’s drama version 72.0.
Getting honorable mentions in the supporting cast department this week are the older woman at the club, crazy Danielle, the voice of Ronnie’s drunk mother, and – as always – the duck phone. More
