Yesterday, I spent a bit of time pondering the sex appeal of Lady Gaga. Despite her being a thin blonde chick in leotards, I’ve pretty much never heard her discussed as a sex symbol, and most of her fans seem to be gay men and straight women. I’m admittedly 99% straight, but I think she’s got a decent amount of hotness goin’ on, what with her slanted take on gender, her hot little body, and her intense, feral, “I’m a monster…no, I’m a motorcycle! Ride me! Grr!” schtick. Plus, I think her face is pretty in a character-laden, New York theater chick sort of way. (Does that sound mean? I don’t mean it to be!) In an effort to see if anyone wants to strip off her weird clothes and bone her, I asked people who are attracted to women if they think Lady Gaga is hot. Some of the answers were surprising; most were not. I’m starting to think I’m as bad as straight guys at assessing the attractiveness of people of my own gender. More
Have you seen these Simpsons-ized Hunger Games characters? They’re pretty cool, as are the actual Hunger Games characters. But because everything is a contest: WHO IS HOTTER? More
Each year the Crushable 25 includes several up-and-coming musicians, which presents a dilemma. Even if we did an all-music list, there still wouldn’t be enough room for all the talented lil’ noodles under 25, because there are just so damn many of them. Which is where you come in. More
Just two months after publishing an extensive screed about her intense need for a backdoor buddy to tackle her “difficult brown” (among other things), singer Sinead O’Connor has repented the only way an ambivalent lapsed Catholic could: by getting a tattoo of Jesus Christ himself, right above her dirty pillows. The Hunger Games has only just begun filming, but already executives at Lionsgate are saying that they’re confident they can wring four movies out of Suzanne Collins’ trilogy. The implication is that the third and final book, Mockingjay, would receive the same treatment the final installments in the Harry Potter and Twilight series: That is, it would be divided into two movies instead of released as one. This, naturally, has prompted much beard-stroking and “hmmm”-ing from fans. More
On Monday, June 6, HGTV is premiering a new show called My Yard Goes Disney. It will join the ranks of the many, many home makeover shows out there, but what makes this one unique is that it is the only one that will take people’s yards and transform them into itty bitty version of Disneyland, or World, or Euro, or whatever. That’s right: You, too, can have your very own Disney theme park, conveniently located right in your backyard.

After dozens of publications noticed a huge difference in Bristol Palin‘s face, she addressed the rumors that she’s had plastic surgery. She said in an interview that the radically new look came from “corrective jaw surgery,” which is apparently the new “I had a nose job because of a deviated septum.” More
Things I did not know about Johnny Depp:
1) His distinctive sense of style was developed through the careful perfection of the “reach into the closet and wear whatever you grab” technique.
2) He used to use the name “Mr. Stench” as an alias during hotel stays, mostly because he enjoyed hearing the hotel staff say “This is your 6 o’clock wake-up call, Mr. Stench.” (Bonus if it’s in a foreign accent.)
3) He fears dancing.
4) His kids think Iron Man is cooler than Jack Sparrow. More
Mazel tov to Mariah Carey and Nick Cannon, whose twins were born yesterday. The babies, a girl and a boy, were coincidentally born on mom and dad’s fourth wedding anniversary. However, the couple has not yet announced the kids’ names. More
This weekend, LeAnn Rimes and Eddie Cibrian pulled off a big surprise – they invited friends and family to an engagement party that ended up being a secret wedding. MTV posted this photo of LeAnn’s dress, and we have to say we’re a bit underwhelmed. She looks beautiful, but the dress seems too casual. Crochet? With an exposed belly button? Really? More
There’s already a term for a buddy movie with guys – a bromance. But what do we call the equivalent movie for women? Discussing his new film Bridesmaids (which stars Maya Rudolph, Kristin Wiig, and Rose Byrne) in Entertainment Weekly, director Paul Feig suggests “sismance” and “galmance” as possible options. More
