NBC’s new TV game show, The Million Second Quiz, which is hosted by Ryan “Perpetual Executive Producer” Seacrest, premiered last night and, I don’t want to sound overzealous, but we needed this show. What we don’t need, however, are the ridiculous questions that the contestants have to answer. More
Tina Fey is taking over television. I repeat, Tina Fey is taking over television. Just a few days after the new Colleen McGuinness-penned comedy she’s producing was sold to NBC, Tina has sold another comedy, this time to Fox. And oh my goodness, you guys, they gave it a series commitment. Without a pilot even having been made. More
Hallelujah and listen to the angels sing! NBC has bought a new comedy that’s being executive produced by Tina Fey. And on top of that, the untitled project is also being executive produced by Robert Carlock, Tina’s co-showrunner on 30 Rock. And and and the project is written by Colleen McGuinness, who was a writer-producer for 30 Rock and is also very funny on Twitter. More
My favorite show that hasn’t been canceled, Parks and Recreation, is shooting parts of season 6 in London, England! And based on the set photos that have made their way onto the interwebs, it looks like the whole gang is there, including a very out-of-place Ron Swanson. More
Being a Community fan is quite the roller coaster ride. One minute you’re loving the show, the next minute you’re not so sure it’s working. One minute you’re terrified it’ll get canceled, the next minute it’s renewed and you have hope. One minute Dan Harmon leaves, the next minute he’s back. One minute Donald Glover is in every episode as Troy Barnes, the next minute he’s in less than half of them. More
It’s no secret that The Tonight Show With Jay Leno can be pretty mean-spirited and also pretty unfunny. Last night’s “Kid Metaphors” segment was both, and it added in a new pet peeve of mine — making mean jokes about Amanda Bynes — to create a perfect storm of unfunny, stale meanness. More
Jerry Seinfeld went on Late Night With Jimmy Fallon last night to perform a stand-up set, and it just felt weird to me. I think it was because there was no puffy shirt. And by “puffy shirt,” I don’t literally mean it was weird because I can only enjoy his stand-up when he’s wearing a puffy pirate shirt. I mean it more metaphorically, as a reference to his show Seinfeld, aka the greatest comedy ever created, according to people who like to argue about that kind of thing. More
Yodelayheehoo! Yodel yodel! Oh sorry, I didn’t see you there. What’s that? You don’t speak yodel? Well then I guess I should translate what I just said for you. What I was saying was, “I have a very fun yodeling video to show you this morning!” And it’s a good thing there are subtitles in this video so you can understand what the yodelers involved are yodeling when they yodel. Well I never! John Krasinski lied to us, everybody! I don’t know if I’ll ever be the same. I mean, how can I even believe that all the adorable things he does aren’t just performed by a robot in a nice-fitting suit? More

Just when I thought things had been thoroughly Britta’d only to be Britta’d some more next season, Community‘s ousted creator Dan Harmon has been asked back to the show. I don’t know about you, but I wasn’t in love with season four. It was the first Harmon-less season, so I can only assume his absence had something to do with the change. More
I’m one of those people who is still watching The Office while simultaneously complaining that the show’s quality has declined. The show has lost its must-see quality for me, so I watch it out of a sense of loyalty and habit. But just because I don’t obsess over the series like I used to doesn’t mean it doesn’t still hold a special place in my heart, and it doesn’t mean I won’t be sad to say goodbye to those characters. Matthew Perry was mourning the loss of his show, the NBC sitcom Go On, which was cancelled after just one season. So I’m sure everyone who ran into him at that L.A. Kings hockey game Friday night was really sensitive to the fact that his show was axed. Oh, except for this one reporter who thought congratulations were in order. More
I’m certain I am not the only one giddy with excitement over the official announcement of Seth Meyers as the new host of Late Night when Jimmy Fallon takes over at The Tonight Show. Meyers was already considered the frontrunner to replace Fallon, but knowing it’s actually happening is such an amazing feeling. More
Even though The Office executive producer Greg Daniels is still denying it, it sounds like Steve Carell actually will make an appearance in the show’s series finale this Thursday. BECAUSE DUH. I can’t imagine why they wouldn’t bring back Michael Scott for the finale unless he wasn’t available, and if he wasn’t available, I can’t imagine why they wouldn’t work around his schedule. More
