We’ve waited three years for the pieces of Joss Whedon and Drew Goddard‘s off-the-wall horror film Cabin in the Woods to come together. Now we know the distributor (Lionsgate) and the release date (April 23, 2012), but we still have no idea what this movie is about! More
TGIF, right? I can only imagine that’s the message that the PR people behind The Expendables 2 are going for in releasing the sequel’s star-packed movie poster on a Friday evening. More
Paramount has been promoting Diablo Cody‘s new movie Young Adult in a cool way: By holding pop-up screenings around the country featuring the movie’s stars. Depending on the town, you might get to see stars Charlize Theron and Patton Oswalt and director Jason Reitman. But no matter what, each screening’s attendees received a special limited-edition poster. We count six in total, each equally dark and irreverent like the movie. More
Lionsgate just released eight character posters for The Hunger Games! Contrary to fears that it would just be the main actors who we’ve already seen in promotional shots — Jennifer Lawrence, Liam Hemsworth, and Josh Hutcherson — the other five are the first shots we’ve seen of these actors in-character. And they look awesome. More

Detroit’s Main Art Theatre was apparently so squicked out by the first official poster for The Human Centipede II (Full Sequence) that they posted this happier, more soothing version in their lobby. We’re not quite sure what the cupcakes and unicorns have to do with fusing people together for your own sexual desires, but OK? It’s sort of a cross between The Neverending Story and The Last Unicorn…
Not to worry, you’ll get to see the real one after the jump, too. More
The last time Katherine Heigl was actually funny and approachable was in 27 Dresses; despite the comedies she’s churned out since then, she comes off as cold and stiff on-screen. So it’s difficult to imagine her as Stephanie Plum, the hapless bounty hunter in Janet Evanovich‘s mystery books. The first poster for One for the Money – the studio is obviously hoping to follow Janet’s prolific, eighteen-book series — just isn’t that inspiring. For one, Katherine’s too pretty. More
For weeks I’ve seen the posters for Ryan Gosling‘s The Fast and the Furious indie ripoff Drive — and I have to ask, whose idea was it to slap on some girly font for an intense car-chase thriller? Best-case scenario, this looks like something we at Crushable would make; worst-case, it resembles a preteen’s folder with “Mrs. Ryan Gosling” scrawled on it in gel pen. More

Wow, Twilight‘s not even being subtle anymore in pushing its message: YOU WILL BE HAPPY ONLY IF YOU FIND YOUR SOULMATE. On the first official poster for Breaking Dawn, Part 1, you’ve got four supernatural couples: Alice and Jasper; Carlisle and Esme; Rosalie and Emmett; Edward and Bella… and poor Jacob, Forever Alone. “Motion poster” sounds like one of those lenticular pictures you got in specially marked cereal boxes, where the image changes depending which side you’re viewing it from. But this digital poster for The Hunger Games seems to be a really cool .gif. And by “cool,” I mean “blazing with the fires of rebellion.” More
Last night I found this teaser poster for The Dark Knight Rises floating around Twitter — starting the promotion early since Christopher Nolan‘s latest Batman film doesn’t come out til next summer. While the posters for 2005′s The Dark Knight could use the Joker (Heath Ledger) and Harvey Dent (Aaron Eckhart) to hype up the movie, this one seems more focused on the city of Gotham itself. As EW pointed out, the way that the infrastructure is crumbling resembles Nolan’s last big movie, Inception. More
ComingSoon.net nabbed a bunch of photos at the Las Vegas Licensing International Expo, where brands and retailers meet to share the latest conceived designs for movies, toys, etc. Our focus, of course, is on the teaser posters for upcoming movies, many of which had their world premiere at the expo.
