Chris Colfer and Other Stars Who Got Bad News Via the Media

Last week, Glee creator Ryan Murphy announced that three of the shows’ stars would be leaving when their characters graduated from high school: Chris Colfer (Kurt), Cory Monteith (Finn), and Lea Michele (Rachel). While Murphy insinuated that he had discussed the decision with the cast. Turned out that wasn’t the case: Chris reportedly found out he lost his job when he read about it on Twitter.

However, Chris isn’t the only star who got bad news via the media. Several other stars also found out about show cancellations or firings through newspaper articles or Twitter messages. More »

Paul Giamatti‘s newest movie opens up today. It’s called Win Win.

I saw it at Sundance this year and enjoyed it. Alex Shaffer, Giamatti’s young costar (pictured), is particularly fun to watch. But after the film ended came the Q&A, where director Thomas McCarthy explained his casting of Paul as the lead. Lucky for him, the two were already friends. But the actor was hesitant to take on the role of Mike Flaherty, because he wasn’t sure he could handle it. He said something to the effect of “Mike is happy. I can’t do happy.” More »
