Just as I’m starting to get back into Glee, Fox has to go and throw a hiatus in my face. IN MY FACE. Now I just feel cranky and ashamed. I’m kind of freaking out, because I haven’t hated Glee two weeks in a row now. Like, I’m not on the love train, but the begrudging enjoyment train is almost as problematic. Weirdly enough, there’s been an increased focus on plot and some hints of character development. On the other hand, more plot means fewer songs, which is actually kind of disappointing. Especially if you’re doing a weekly recap focused on grading the episodes’ musical numbers. What about my needs, Ryan Murphy? More

Despite getting his start as superb dancer Link Larkin in Broadway’s Hairspray, Matthew Morrison must have a contractual obligation that forces him to give all of the dance scenes on Glee to the kids. We know this because he breaks into dance at every other chance he gets: On Oprah, on Jay Leno, and now at the NKOTBSB tour. Glee creator Ryan Murphy has said that Rachel, Finn and the rest of the gang will be graduating at the end of season three because “you can’t stay in high school forever.” Ha! It’s like he’s never watched TV. Maybe Mr. Murphy can learn a thing or two from the writers of these high school dramas. Because they sat down in a meeting, looked at each other and thought, what would Boy Meets World be without Shaun and Corey?, Buffy without Xander and Willow?. The answer: hollow, empty, shells of TV shows. And if Glee were to become a hollow shell, there’d be a damn echo to deal with as well. More
