Mad Men Sympathy Rankings: The Final Verdict

Mad Men Sympathy Rankings: The Final Verdict

Wow, what a show. This definitely wasn’t my favorite season of Mad Men, but last night’s season 6 finale was pretty fantastic. It had me tearing up more than once and not really knowing why, and more than anything it made me think. A LOT. Which is nothing new for that show, it’s just that this week’s episode got me thinking a particularly large amount. Part of that thinking involved putting together my final sympathy rankings of the season. More »

We Don’t Know How Mad Men Will End Tonight, But We Do Know How The Entire Series WON’T End

We Don't Know How Mad Men Will End Tonight, But We Do Know How The Entire Series WON'T End

Mad Men is a great television show for many reasons, but my favorite one is that it makes you think.  Plain and simple.  Sometimes a little too much, especially if it has turned you into a conspiracy theorist, but I love reading everyone’s theories just the same.  One popular notion of how the series will end after season 7 next year is that Don will end up falling out of a skyscraper window as a literal interpretation of the intro. Mad Men Sympathy Rankings: The Curious Case Of Bob Benson

Mad Men Sympathy Rankings: The Curious Case Of Bob Benson

What an episode! Last night’s Mad Men on AMC had compelling storylines and complex character development coming at us from every angle, and I loved it. Of course the thing everyone’s talking about this morning is the fact that Bob Benson’s identity has finally been explained. Well, sort of. Mad Men Sympathy Rankings: Poor Sally Draper

Mad Men Sympathy Rankings: Poor Sally Draper

I’ve been waiting all season for a good Sally Draper episode of Mad Men. I finally got it last night, but as usual things weren’t looking up for poor Sally. This girl just cannot catch a break, can she? How many things will she witness before 1970? I went into this episode looking for death clues left and right, but I forgot all about those conspiracy theories during the second half hour. More »

Mad Men Sympathy Rankings: Joan And Peggy For President

Mad Men Sympathy Rankings: Joan And Peggy For President

This week’s episode of Mad Men certainly wasn’t short on “What in the name of the ’60s is going on?” moments, mostly (as per usual) involving Don and his gradual downward spiral. We’ll get to all that, but the part of the episode that stood out to me was the storyline involving Joan and Peggy and Avon. I love their interactions in general, and it brought up some challenging questions about feminism and women in the workforce, as well as playing with our sympathy, which is what we’re here to talk about. The New Mad Men Theory Doesn’t Look Good For Megan (NSFW-ish)

The New Mad Men Theory Doesn't Look Good For Megan (NSFW-ish)

If there was ever a show that didn’t skimp on the symbolism, it’s Mad Men. There’s something to decode in every episode, but usually it has people wondering what the show’s trying to say about society or politics or any number of arsty-fartsy intellectual things. Now the creepiest, most interesting theory of all is making the rounds on the interweb. And it’s all because of that cute star T-shirt Megan Draper wore at the end of this past Sunday’s episode.
