After watching this new trailer for This is 40, I’m actually really excited to see the Knocked Up spin-off starring  Leslie Mann and Paul Rudd as Pete and Debbie, a middle-aged couple trying not to kill each other. The Trailer For This Is 40 Makes The Knocked Up Sequel Look Promising

Way back when Judd Apatow announced he would be making This is 40,  semi-sequel to the hit film Knocked Up about Debbie (Leslie Mann) and Pete’s (Paul Rudd) family, I worried that it would just be Debbie complaining about how much her marriage sucked for two straight hours while Seth Rogen smoked out of a bong in the backyard. But after watching the first trailer for the movie, I’m actually kind of excited.

'The Change-Up' May Seem Like Escapism for Guys, But It's Actually a Female Fantasy

This year has already seen several comedies marketed to men in which belabored husbands get to take a break from marriage. You had Hall Pass early in the year, wherein Owen Wilson and Jason Sudeikis‘ wives gave them carte blanche for a whole week. Today’s big release is The Change-Up, in which Ryan Reynolds and Jason Bateman switch bodies. Not surprisingly, Reynolds gets the short end of the stick, while Bateman gets to run around as a hot single guy, and catch the attention of his crush Olivia Wilde.

However, both of these movies have one very important thing in common: The guy who’s all talk but never follows through. We’d go so far as to say he’s neutered… and the producers seem to be banking on him as the female moviegoers’ ultimate fantasy. More »
