Olympics, Schmalympics. Obviously the most important news from this weekend was Jason Bateman taking twitpics of TV son Michael Cera standing in the Bluths’ model home. (Site of Mrs. Featherbottom, George Sr.’s gas-induced tea parties, and that sexy, sexy tension between George Michael and Maeby.) More
We’ll always fondly remember birthday girl Judy Greer as George Sr.’s unhinged, flashing secretary Kitty Sanchez on Arrested Development. More

A photographer snapped this shot of Jason Bateman kissing costar Olivia Wilde while shooting The Longest Week in New York City. And I have to say, good for them!
One of my biggest complaints about The Change-Up was that Jason’s character never got to enjoy being stuck in Ryan Reynolds‘ body; he was so neutered by marriage that he wouldn’t even have a fling with his assistant, played by Olivia Wilde. What’s meant to be a redeeming moment comes off as disappointing. More

Incredible news came out of today’s Arrested Development reunion panel at the New Yorker Festival: Creator Mitch Hurtwitz announced that the beloved show will return to TV in a ten-episode prequel to the eventual Arrested Development movie! More
There’s good news on the horizon for Arrested Development fans! According to a source at Screen Rant, Fox and Mitch Hurwitz should be announcing the plot of the movie in the next few weeks. And until the official announcement, there’s also a big rumor (from the same source) that the movie will be incredibly self-referential. Here’s a hint: Who liked the arc where Tobias played George Sr. in a movie about the Bluths? More

You know what’s more fun than Arrested Development? Arrested Development paper dolls! If you’ve been mourning the show since its cruel cancellation at the hands of Fox, never fear: Now you can create your own zany adventures with the gloriously dysfunctional Fünke-Bluth family! Now if only they’d start getting that alleged Arrested Development movie going… More
This year has already seen several comedies marketed to men in which belabored husbands get to take a break from marriage. You had Hall Pass early in the year, wherein Owen Wilson and Jason Sudeikis‘ wives gave them carte blanche for a whole week. Today’s big release is The Change-Up, in which Ryan Reynolds and Jason Bateman switch bodies. Not surprisingly, Reynolds gets the short end of the stick, while Bateman gets to run around as a hot single guy, and catch the attention of his crush Olivia Wilde.
However, both of these movies have one very important thing in common: The guy who’s all talk but never follows through. We’d go so far as to say he’s neutered… and the producers seem to be banking on him as the female moviegoers’ ultimate fantasy. More
It’s that time again: Magical movie where two people switch bodies and learn that the grass is not always greener and that they should value their own existences, no matter how uncool/directionless they are! The latest offering is The Change-Up, where family man Jason Bateman and stoner playboy Ryan Reynolds wish for each other’s lives. Drugs! Divorce! Naked Olivia Wilde! But before we get to all that, here are nine other movies (compiled by myself and our intern, Molly Horan) that use the same trope, with varying results. You may know more than a few of these, but we guarantee that you haven’t heard of Sex, Drugs, & Natalie Portman! More
Everyone’s favorite party animal Jason Bateman went on The Daily Show last night, ostensibly to promote his new movie The Change-Up. He was as funny and charming as ever, and his banter with John Stewart was just adorable. But when it came time to discuss the movie, he cut right to the chase and said this: More
Jason Bateman, star of Arrested Development and (sigh) this week’s The Change-Up, has been hard at work in Hollywood for quite some time now. You probably know him as the guy whose career has gone slightly downhill since everyone’s favorite cult hit was canceled, but he wasn’t exactly Sidney Poitier before then, either. But it’s okay! That’s part of why we love him. Jason Bateman was born to play the dimply, caring, nice guy in rom-coms. Discover some facts about the teen idol turned grown-up movie star, after the jump. More
