After months of investigation and undercover reporting, Jimmy Kimmel figured out the secret to how Dancing With The Stars chooses their “star” contestants. He’s kind enough to share it with us here today in a revealing film that will make you rethink everything you thought you knew about casting. More
Are you excited about the premiere of Dancing With The Stars’ new season on March 19? This year, we’ll see how athletes (Martina Navratilova, Donald Driver), former child stars (Little House on the Prairie‘s Melissa Gilbert and Family Matters‘ Jaleel White), TV hosts (Sherri Shepherd, Maria Menounos ), soap opera legends legends (Jack Wagner, where have you been?) and others shine on the dance floor. And, if looking at your childhood favorites make you want to try some rumba, samba or mambo yourself, you can join them from the comfort (and privacy) of your home with the Dancing with the Stars: Cardio Dance for Weight Loss DVD. With this DVD, which features Dancing with the Stars pros Mark Ballas and Kym Johnson, and you will, indeed, dance your butt off. And who needs a partner? If you think you have what it takes to master the art of the samba, the salsa and swing, we have the perfect treat for you: five lucky Crushable readers will get a copy of this fun workout DVD. Read on to find out how to enter to win. More
Fans of Dancing with the Stars have taken to the message boards to criticize ABC’s casting of transgender contestant Chaz Bono (a move that GLAAD commended). Fans have gone so far as to threaten to skip the show this season on account of Chaz, who will be dancing with Lacey Schwimmer. One comment in particular struck me as especially ridiculous:
Next week is the season finale of Dancing with the Stars. That means it’s time for freestyle dances, where contestants get to take a break from show-required sambas and waltzes and cut loose with a dance that expresses their personality. But why focus on good dances? Some of Dancing‘s best watercooler moments have been the insane, WTF-filled dances where celebrities try to show off and fail miserably in the process. Moments like these, to be specific. More
Last night on Dancing With The Stars, Jennifer Grey took home the fabled mirror ball, as the 11th season winner of the show. Which means that Bristol Palin did not win (in fact, she came in third) and the angry anti-Palin contingent did not need to revolt. As far as we could tell, Bristol’s mama Sarah Palin didn’t even make it to the final performance. Maybe the Palinites could tell her heart wasn’t in it.
But more importantly, Christina Aguilera performed a song from Burlesque, her sequin clad movie that debuts today. The result? It was rather scary. (Video after the jump.)
Last night on Dancing With The Stars, Mike ‘The Situation’ Sorrentino got the boot. But if the producers were smart, they would have kept him around a few weeks longer.
The Situation wasn’t about to win any dancing prizes. As we mentioned yesterday, his Argentinan tango was pretty terrible. In the end, he only got 28 out of 60 points last night. But since when do scores have anything to do with who stays on the show at this point? More
DTF, GTL and TLF? The Situation had two left feet on last night’s episode of Dancing With the Stars. He and partner Karina Smirnoff performed an Argentine tango that was quite possibly the worst performance in the show’s history. Mike managed to pull only 28 out of a possible 60 points, putting him way behind the other contestants. More
