Castle 5×07 will parody Firefly by having Rick Castle meet Gabriel Winters, himself a spoof of Nathan Fillion. Amazing! More
Even though Adam Baldwin played Ethan Slaughter and Nathan Fillion is Rick Castle, their dynamic on last night’s Castle was all straight man Mal/hothead Jayne… except for one major difference. Plus: We caught several Firefly Easter eggs in the episode! More
Mal and Jayne, reunited at last! Adam Baldwin will play “a rough and tumble cop” named Ethan Slaughter (seriously) on Castle, working alongside his Firefly co-star Nathan Fillion almost seven years since their feature film Serenity. More
The Emmys have kind of popped up at us, but here’s the strange part: What’s most captivated us is not the nominees, but who got overlooked. More
To continue driving viewers to Castle, ABC has rolled out another novelization of one of Rick Castle’s (Nathan Fillion)’s books, but this time it’s in graphic novel form. Castle: Richard Castle’s Deadly Storm will focus on Castle’s first big hero, … More
Ricky Gervais‘ sitcom Extras taught us that laboring in the background of shots while big-name actors strut around and say their lines is a thankless job for actors who haven’t “made it” yet. It could also be a fun gig for particularly enthusiastic fans. More
Shawna Trpcic and Luke Reichle, who have both worked as costume designers on various TV shows of the past few years, have something else very important in common: They’ve both made Nathan Fillion look good. Trpcic was responsible for the gritty and romantic clothing on Joss Whedon‘s Firefly, where she squeezed Fillion into a pair of famously tight pants. As Castle‘s costume designer from the start, Reichle now outfits Fillion in more expensive suits. More
But he does like Samoas! By now, you’ve probably all seen the vaguely-WTF cover of this week’s Entertainment Weekly– and by “WTF,” I mostly mean, “What on Earth is Nathan Fillion doing?” Answer: Making jazz hands while wearing a Green Lantern T-shirt. However, because he’s Nathan Fillion, I’m willing to go with it. More
I have to admit: I’m still shocked that ABC would go to such lengths for their promotional material that they would have someone ghostwrite two entire books — Naked Heat and Heat Wave –so they could be “authored” by the fictional character, Rick Castle. Who has time to read a fake mystery book by an author who doesn’t exist, and by the show’s own account is mediocre in his talents? More importantly, who has time to write these novels, whose only purpose, again, is to serve as shwag for the show? More

Yes that’s right: In preparation for the new season of Castle, ABC has released two crime novels, Heat Wave and Naked Heat, written by the protagonist of the show, Rick Castle (played by the extremely hunky Nathan Fillion.) That seems a little…excessive, don’t you think? Who wants to read a whole book written by an imaginary person? And we pity the poor ghostwriter whose job it was to make a shitty crime novel written by said imaginary person, just to have it distributed as swag to entertainment outlets. More
