“To get back to what it is, going off another actors and really searching, creating and collaborating in that way is really refreshing,” Taylor Kitsch says of working on Savages and promises that he’ll stay away from a green screen for a while. Of course, the question is whether any studio would let him near a green screen in the first place after his double-feature-flop of Battleship and John Carter. More

The movie industry needs a movie so deliriously awful that it keeps you entertained for two hours, and Battleship perfectly fits that bill. To convince you to actually pay for this movie, I’ve broken down the major factors that made it such a guilty pleasure, from Rihanna‘s wooden acting to the 20 minutes where they actually play Battleship. First there were Traveling Pants, next there were Transformers, now we have Battleship. It seems like movies can get produced that are based on just about anything these days. Really, we’ll take Taylor Kitsch any way, but we have to admit that short hair is a good look for him. In terms of his acting career, we’ve always known him by two things: Friday Night Lights and shaggy hair. More
The trailer for the Battleship movie hit the web last week, and while it looks better than one would expect, given that it’s a movie based on a board game which, at its most exciting, involves sticking a peg into a hole in a plastic ship, I’ll be honest with you: I’m a little baffled. How exactly do we get from “A…4″ to “OH GOD ALIENS!”? No idea. And honestly, if this is the direction Hollywood is going these days, I’m a little terrified to find out where this Candy Land movie I keep hearing about is going to go. But hey, since I may as well capitalize on this weird let’s-turn-board-games-into-movies trend while I can, here are 12 other possible board game-inspired movie ideas to pitch. Call me, Hollywood. I’m waiting. More
