Now we get why Alamo Drafthouse is consistently voted the beast theater in the country. They’re the ones behind the viral video of an angry customer’s bleep-filled voicemail, which they used in their famous “Don’t Talk” campaign of PSAs that run before new movies. Today we stumbled upon their official YouTube channel, which collects all of their “Don’t Talk” PSAs — including the hilarious ones with celebrities like Jason Momoa and Dave Franco. Not all of them succeed — therein lies the fun — but you have to hand it to the theater and the stars for turning out such wacky videos. More
There are two forces working together to make Fright Night a delightfully fun, terrifying vampire movie: The tight script by Buffy alum Marti Noxon, and the cast. You already know that it’s got a stellar leading cast – Anton Yelchin, Colin Farrell, Christopher Mintz-Plasse, David Tennant — but there are four hilarious cameos that really enhance the movie. See if you’re sharp-eyed enough to catch these once you go to see this excellent remake. More
Our new Trailer Recap feature gives attention to movie trailers we think warrant in-depth analysis. This time, we address Like Crazy, the upcoming Sundance darling that stars Felicity Jones and Anton Yelchin.
This video is either the trailer for a romantic film about young people or a viral ad for an antidepressant; it’s impossible to be sure. We begin on Young People Felicity Jones and Anton Yelchin, who appear to be in the throes of the particular type of romance that blossoms in dining halls and library tables and twin-size beds. They both seem the dreamy sort. Anton asks, “Would you mind reading me something?” More

Don’t get me wrong — having read the book, I’m excited for One Day, though Anne Hathaway‘s British accent is horrendous. But then came this Sundance winner Like Crazy, which stars Anton Yelchin and Felicity Jones as college seniors who fall in love instantly but can’t be together because of post-grad plans and responsibilities. Unlike Hathaway and Jim Sturgess‘ characters, who can’t admit how powerful their connection is, Jacob and Anna try with all their might to make their relationship work despite the physical distance and desire to date other people. And the Ingrid Michaelson cover of “Fools Rush In” just does you in. More
Incredible news: Cartoon Network is working with Transformers producers Don Murphy and Susan Montford to bring our generation’s favorite environmentally-conscious cartoon Captain Planet to the big-screen — in a live-action movie! This was one of those shows that you realize now was incredibly cheesy, especially because it was so educational; but when you were a little kid, summoning a superhero from five magic rings to save the environment seemed nothing short of badass.
A great thing about this live-action movie is how removed it will be from the series, which ran from 1990-1996. So even though stars like Meg Ryan, Whoopi Goldberg, and LeVar Burton voiced the characters, you can have a whole new crop of actors in this reboot. Here’s our dream cast. First off, the Planeteers and the people who make them great. More
Of the three satanic employers in Horrible Bosses, only one really amuses me. It’s not Jennifer Aniston with her rumored topless scene; and while Kevin Spacey pushing around Jason Bateman will undoubtedly be a lot of fun, he still comes in second to the actor I’m most excited to see play a power-tripping asshole: Colin Farrell. See, despite headlining cheesy sweeping historical epics and brooding war dramas, he’s actually a good actor. The key? Comedy.
Put Colin Farrell in a comedy and he will shine. More
The streets of Park City were filled with attractive faces this week — though many were covered up by scarves and hats. On screen, temperatures were a bit hotter. And for your viewing pleasure, we’ve compiled all the guys that looked great on screen (and who can expect to see a lot more of in the coming months and years). More
With the Sundance Film Festival well underway, tons of indie flicks are getting premiere screenings in the hopes of being picked up by a major distributor. That’s not bothering the people behind the improvised teen drama Like Crazy, as the movie – about a young couple who fall in love in college before the real world drives them apart – was picked up by Paramount at the beginning of the festival to the tune of $4 million.
We’re guessing that a large chunk of that change rested on the amazingly hot shoulders of its young male lead, Charlie Bartlett star Anton Yelchin, who is also gearing up to star in the remake of the 80s horror film Fright Night. Here’s 5 fun facts to know about the 21-year-old Russian before he blows up. More
