Bethenny Frankel Will Get Another Shot At Being A Talk Show Host

We had our doubts but it turns out our favorite entrepreneur will get to keep doing her talk show. On Ellen today, Bethenny confirmed to the host (who also produces her show) that the talk show is returning. “We are not going to give a lot of details because we can’t,” said Ellen DeGeneres announcing the exciting news. “It is safe to say she will be on television soon. The television show will be back on the air soon.” Bethenny swore on Skinny Girl Margaritas that the news was true.

Lizzy Caplan Was Very Mad About The Whole Women Being Funny Discussion

Lizzy Caplan Was Very Mad About The Whole Women Being Funny Discussion

Lizzy Caplan is a very funny lady. She was funny as Janis Ian in Mean Girls. She was funny as Casey Klein on the cult hit Party Down and as Julia on New Girl. I even found her funny in Cloverfield, which was really not funny. But Lizzy has always known she and her fellow female comedic actresses were funny. This is why she was mad about the whole nation finally realizing women were funny thanks to the massive success of Bridesmaids. More »

Katie Holmes May Have The Best PR Team Ever

Katie Holmes May Have The Best PR Team Ever

We aren’t quite sure how she will fare in the actual divorce (though she has reportedly hired an impeccable legal team) but Katie Holmes is certainly winning the PR war right now. Katie is going out in public looking happy (but not too happy), doing work and she already has an Elle Magazine cover coming out next month in which she pretty much admits, in secret code, that she is definitely getting divorced. Meanwhile, Tom Cruise is hiding in Iceland like a mysterious troll. Katie has total control and it is most likely because she has an excellent PR team.

The Cannes Film Festival Has Become A Feminist Protest

Glitz, glamour and petitions? The Cannes film festival has it all. Amidst the movie stars promoting their films there is a negative undertone at the famous film festival . On May 16, a group of 250 people including producer Darla K. Anderson (Toy Story 3), director Gillian Armstrong, actress-director Rachel Ward and feminist icon Gloria Steinem signed a petition sent to Cannes officials, headlined, “Where Are the Women Directors?” By May 17, the petition on Change.org had about 700 signatories. Blow Your Coworkers Away With A Recharged Spring Look

Blow Your Coworkers Away With A Recharged Spring Look

In the winter it is easier to get away with looking tired. The weather can be miserable, you haven’t seen the sun in weeks and it’s easy to bury yourself in layers of comfy sweaters. But now it is spring! The sun is actually shining (remember the sun?) and if you keep wearing that giant, puffy coat you are going to pass out from heat exhaustion. As fashionable as it is to be a vampire right now, your face could use a refresher.

This is why you should sign up for monthly beauty sample deliveries from Birchbox. Getting a package in the mail is pretty much one of the only exciting things that can happen to normal working people on a weekday. But it is especially nice if you get a surprise box of treats that will help you embrace spring More »

10 Positive Portrayals of Working Women On Television Today

What would we do without a little television to watch when we come home from a long day of work? It is nice though that these women make it look a bit more entertaining with either hilarious jokes or just ridiculously good-looking men hanging around. 10 Career Lessons From The Season 2 Finale Of ‘Downton Abbey’

10 Career Lessons From The Season 2 Finale Of âDownton Abbeyâ

Last night marked the Season 2 finale of the hit PBS series Downton Abbey. In case you have been living under a rock, Downton Abbey is the new big thing in television. Dare I say, it may be close to reaching Mad Men-type popularity. According to The Daily Beast, Downton Abbey has made PBS cool again, as well as chivalry, politeness, culture, tuxedos all the time, the Spanish Plague and Maggie Smith (not that she was ever not cool.) “Not since Ken Burns’s The Civil War documentary, which aired in 1990, has PBS been at the center of national cultural conversation as it is now.” Masterpiece’s Downton Abbey will return in January 2013 and has generated critical acclaim, audience enthusiasm, and impressive ratings, and garnered six Emmys and one Golden Globe, ending HBO’s dominance over the movies and miniseries category. Downton is ranked No. 3 in terms of overall audiences in all Masterpiece presentations since 1990, second only to The Buccaneers and Prime Suspect 2. It brought in a staggering average audience of 6.3 million viewers for its second season premiere on Jan. 8 and was the second-watched program at 9 p.m. on Super Bowl Sunday. We decided there had to be some career insights we could find in this amazing show even though unfortunately back then rich women didn’t work and their main goal in life was to find a husband. but the servants did take their jobs very seriously so we managed to find a few gems. Here are 10 career lessons from the Season 2 finale of Downton Abbey. More »
