It’s been almost three whole months since I first saw Star Wars: The Force Awakens, and I’m still totally obsessed with BB-8. That droid stole my heart and is keeping it in that little compartment of his, and I don’t think I’ll ever get it back. Last night my BB-8 love was intensified when the Beebs (Can we just officially shift that nickname from Bieber onto BB-8, please?) showed up on The Late Late Show With James Corden. Not only did it serve as an amazing reminder that no, BB-8 is not a CGI character, but there was also singing involved.
Reggie Watts introduced BB-8 as his “muse” (#same), and after translating some of the droid’s beeps to let everyone know how “ecstatic” he was to be there and what a big fan of the show he is, he started a song in BB-8′s honor. And the Beebs didn’t just sit there the whole time without contributing. He joined in with some melodious beeping and adorable head wiggles that I’m pretty sure were droid dance moves. The whole thing is delightful, but the best part by far is when BB-8 bows at the end. Yes, that’s right, I said he bows. Just watch and be amazed.
What a cute day this has been on the Internet. First I saw Jack Pratt meeting the penguin he named, and then I watched BB-8 perform a duet with Reggie Watts. What other viral adorableness will the day bring? Will I scroll past ten cat videos in a row on my Facebook homepage and not see a single engagement or pregnancy announcement? I guess I’ll just have to wait and see what happens. Meanwhile, I’m wishing you and yours a day of cuteness too. Cuteness all around!
