Anne Hathaway isn’t one to just give away deeply personal information or photos, you have to work for them. So it’s not a surprise she has kept her first pregnancy with husband Adam Shulman under wraps. The pregnancy was never even formally announced by Anne with it being confirmed through “sources” and pictures of her with a bump under her sweater that even a big Thanksgiving dinner couldn’t produce. However Anne was recently forced to give a glimpse into her life as a mom-to-be by the most evil of things- the paparazzi. When Anne noticed she was being photographed enjoying a day at the beach, she decided to send a message to those photographers that if the world wants to see her baby bump they need to join the 1.9 million people who follow her on Instagram.
Anne shared the picture of her growing bump looking great in a red bikini and explained the situation in the most Anne Hathaway way possible. She wrote:
Happy 2016 to my beautiful Instafriends! So, posting a bikini pic is a little out of character for me, but just now while I was at the beach I noticed I was being photographed. I figure if this kind of photo is going to be out in the world it should at least be an image that makes me happy (and be one that was taken with my consent. And with a filter :) Wishing you love, light and blessings for the year ahead!
Judging by that caption, the pregnancy pic was a one time deal so I can’t imagine we will be getting Kim Kardashian style updates with every little detail of her pregnancy. We probably will only find out more about the kid when Anne wins another Oscar 10 years from now and thanks him/her in another memorable speech.
