Something amazing happened this weekend. Kris Jenner attended Balmain’s spring 2016 menswear show in Paris wearing a Balmain blazer emblazoned with gold dragons. That’s not the amazing part; that’s just Kris Jenner being Kris Jenner. The amazing part is that Justin Bieber wore a similar blazer, also by Balmain, to the Met Gala earlier this year. According to E! News, both Kris and Justin are friends with the line’s creative director Olivier Rousteing.
To sum things up, Justin Bieber and Kris Jenner are in a “Who Wore It Better?” contest. Satan must be so proud of his favorite children. And what makes it even better is that Kris even appears to have taken a few styling cues from the Biebs. She’s got the black top, the skinny black pants, the black boots, the sunglasses, and the slicked back hair. It’s like she’s cosplaying him at a Justin Bieber convention, no doubt next to someone in a pair of meeting-the-prime-minister overalls, a guy with a guitar covering his junk, and several dozen people walking around without shirts on.
Possibly the best part of these two sporting the same look is that I can be totally objective in my judgment of them, because I dislike both of them the same amount. And when it comes down to it, I think I’m going to have to hand this one to Bieber. Not only did he originate the look, but he’s generally pulling it off much better. He fit the theme of the event (China: Through the Looking Glass), his sunglasses are more understated in contrast to the wild jacket, and his hair has more pizzazz. Not to mention it was a nice change from his typical outfits (see the above description of an imaginary Justin Bieber convention).
So there you have it, Beliebers. I said your idol looked better in a dragon blazer than Kim Kardashian’s mom. Are you happy?
