Jennifer Aniston has had enough of the Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie questions, folks. During a recent interview with Entertainment Tonight about her new movie Cake, the conversation (of course) turned to her big “rivalry” with her ex’s current and how people perceive it.
“I think that’s slowly coming to an end. I really do. I mean, that movie [Unbroken] is so beautiful and wonderful and she did such a gorgeous job. I think that it’s time people stop with that petty B.S. and just start celebrating great work and stop with the petty kind of silliness.”
More of this, please. We love to see ladies supporting ladies for their good work.
Aniston went on to say pretty much what we were all thinking, regarding the fake feud. (Faud?)
“It’s just tiresome and old. It’s like an old leather shoe. Let’s buy a new pair of shiny shoes.”
Amen. We’re sure Aniston has felt this way for years, so good for her for stepping up and getting it off her chest (even if she broke her cardinal rule of silence on the matter).
Still, she might think the idea of an ongoing battle between her and Jolie is “coming to an end,” but we hate to think what the Internet would’ve come up with if one of the stars had earned an Oscar nomination and the other hadn’t. While it would’ve been great for them both to get the nod, at least this way we don’t have to deal with headlines screaming “JEN IN TEARS OVER ANGELINA’S OSCAR NOD” or “ANGELINA PLOTTING JEN’S DEATH AFTER SNUB.”
Let’s hope reporters take heed and stop bringing this faud (really trying to make this happen, guys) up to Aniston. (Yeah, I know, I know, pipe dreams.) Even if she flat-out refuses to say anything about it at all people will probably be asking her about Brangelina for years to come, but at least now she has a default (and classy) answer to fall back on.
