Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie have never been a traditional couple, so I guess it should surprise none of us that they’re spending their honeymoon pretending to be unhappily married. Sure sure sure, totally normal.
After being together for almost a decade, building a family of eight, and being engaged for over two years, Brangelina finally had a secret and very intimate wedding last week, complete with their kids’ doodles on Angelina’s dress and veil. (Like I said — anything but ordinary, these two.) So now that the ceremony part is over with, time to move on the honeymoon! According to a source who spoke to E! News:
“The honeymoon was a few days enjoying Miraval and how much space they have now.”
And once they wrapped up that typical newlywed behavior of wandering around their mansion listening to its vast echoes, they moved on to stage two, what’s been dubbed a ‘workingmoon’, filming their upcoming project By The Sea together in Malta. Angelina told People:
“We are working together on a drama about grief and finding a way through a difficult marriage. We find it very funny that it’s our honeymoon.”
You’re right guys, that is particularly odd. Particularly because the film is being described as a character-driven drama in which Brad and Angie play a couple in the south of France who are sexually-obsessed with their neighbors.
I think it’s safe to say that most couples don’t get hitched and then immediately turn to each other and go, “Hey! Wanna pretend we’ve been married for a really long time and that we hate it? Let’s do it!” But most couples also don’t have the opportunity to star opposite each other in a movie written and directed by one half of the couple. (The Angelina Jolie half, in case you were wondering.)
Guys, real talk — why is my life so boring? I hope someone invites me on a workingmoon today. Otherwise I’m staying in and doing a crossword.
