Beyonce and Jay-Z attended the Made in America music festival in Los Angeles on Sunday, and they partook in a little bit of cuddly, kissy PDA. And there’s even photographic evidence of it, at left. Aw, isn’t that sweet. But what about all that talk about an impending divorce? This wouldn’t be their very clever way of deflecting those rumors, would it?
There are two ways you can take these photos. First, you can interpret them as proof that everything between Jay and Bey is perfectly fine, and any whisperings about their marriage being on the rocks is pure tabloid fiction. That’s the route PopSugar took with it, declaring that their PDA “puts an end to any divorce rumors.” It’s certainly the glass half full direction to go with it.
But I’ve never been a glass half full kind of girl. Why isn’t there anything in the rest of my glass? To whom do I speak about this? I also try to make a habit of not taking what celebrities do or say at face value, so obviously I’m going in the complete other direction with this and assuming this is Jay and Bey’s way of further distracting from actual problems. I know I’ve used the line “the lady doth protest too much” quite a bit when writing about celebs, but that’s because it fits so well with the way they deal with their problems.
And it’s not the first time we’ve said it about these two. Remember when they were sharing all those happy family photos on Instagram? Or last weekend when Jay brought Blue Ivy onstage for more adorableness after Beyonce’s performance at the VMAs? It’s just a lot of very public lovin’ in a very short span of time. Plus, if you believe the theories that Beyonce was never actually pregnant with Blue Ivy, that would mean Beyonce and Jay-Z have experience covering things up and manipulating the public. I’m pretty sure they’d be good at it either way, though. A few carefully placed hands and tenderly planted hair kisses coupled with loving smiles in front of a railing where everybody can see you, and BOOM! Divorce rumors annihilated. Not so fast, you two. This isn’t over.
