In case you missed it, Aubrey Plaza and Anna Kendrick have an adorable BFFship. I know suggesting that anyone could ever replace Tina Fey and Amy Poehler is sacrilegious, but hypothetically if any celeb BFFs were going to be the next Tina and Amy, I’m pretty sure it would be these two. I know, I know. How dare I suggest such a thing? I’ll remember to sit in the timeout corner later.
Aubrey and Anna are even starring in a new movie together called Life After Beth. And they’re going to star together again, if Aubrey has anything to say about it. Aubrey’s on the September cover of Nylon magazine, and in the interview she talks briefly about Anna, specifically her plans for when they’re old ladies.
“Hmm, hopefully when I’m 70, Anna Kendrick and I will have our multicam sitcom, exactly like The Golden Girls. We’ll just be two fast-talking sexual ladies hitting on younger guys.”
Ummm, yes please. Actually, what would be even better is if these two could just film the pilot for that right now. They can just put some prosthetic makeup on to make them look older (and ask Heidi Klum for tips), and then be their adorable selves together for half an hour. I’m just not really in the mood to wait forty-odd years for this. Television might not even exist then. We might not exist then. What if the Mayans were off by a few decades? Dammit, you two better get on this immediately! The world could end tomorrow and we’ll never see this magic! Do you think this is a game?
Oh, and if you’re wondering what Anna thinks about Aubrey, she had this lovely statement to give:
“Aubrey has a wolflike quality onscreen. She’s gorgeous and majestic in repose, but mostly you’re hoping to see her tear something’s throat open.”
That’s actually incredibly accurate. I wouldn’t be surprised if Aubrey was secretly a wolf in a human disguise. Maybe she’s friends with those golden retrievers who call themselves Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds. (I will never give up this conspiracy theory.)
