I hope you’re sitting down right now, because I have some shocking news for you. A member of the Kardashian family reportedly behaved like a spoiled brat at a restaurant last week. It’s okay. Just take deep breaths and we’ll get through this together. The (honorary) Kardashian in question is very serious fashion model Kendall Jenner, and the incident allegedly occurred last Monday at Mercer Kitchen in New York City.
According to Page Six, Kendall was there with Stephen Baldwin’s daughter Hailey. I don’t want to sound Baldwinist, but all I’m saying is if you’re going to behave rudely at a restaurant, a Baldwin seems like the appropriate choice of companion. Apparently Kendall, who is 18, wasn’t so happy that the restaurant wouldn’t serve her alcohol. Ugh, that’s like so annoying. Don’t they know that 18 is 21 in celebrity years? Duh! So how did Kendall display his displeasure? She allegedly “got up and left and didn’t pay for all the food . . . about $60 worth, and without a tip.”
Kendall’s waitress Blaine Morris, an actress who appeared on MTV’s Skins, apparently had to chase her outside to get her to pay, and later tweeted:
“That horrible moment you chase a kardashian down the street because she forgot to pay her bill to be thrown money in your face.”
According to a witness, Kendall and Hailey “started laughing” before Kendall “took a couple of $20 bills out of her wallet, threw them at the server and walked away, not even counting if it was enough or if it included a tip.” Hahaha, as if she knows what a tip is. That’s a good one. Is it too late to add her to our list of worst celebrities to wait on in restaurants? The only thing that seems fishy to me is that Kendall had any bills with her smaller than 1,000. Yes, I said 1,000. The Kardashians probably have those.
Of course, Miss Baldwin has a different story. (Doesn’t a Baldwin always?) Kendall’s rep wouldn’t comment to Page Six, but a Baldwin rep said, “They thought everything was paid for. Kendall was polite and asked ‘Does this cover it?’ They didn’t run.” This story might check out if we assume that Kendall considers her very presence to be sufficient payment. In that case, I’ll believe she thought everything was paid for.
