Though I’m sure a lot of us out there would agree that Justin Bieber has been on the well-beaten path to notoriety for quite some time now, reaching that official status isn’t final until Beyonce and Jay-Z say it is. And that they did, during their current joint tour. Beside sharing their intimate, totally-on-lock-down-for-six-years wedding photos, wearing ass-less chaps, and basically casting everyone under their spell (which takes a good amount of PR talent after that elevator fiasco), Beyonce and Jay-Z’s tour also features mugshot photos of famous people. And Justin Bieber’s infamous mugshot is among them.

Other mugshots featured in the montage include those of Bill Gates and Sean I-Don’t-Know-What-You’re-Going-By-These-Days Combs. Apparently Bieber himself seemed to find this to be a good thing, as he retweeted a photo from the concert when the above Twitter account brought it to his attention. I mean yeah, I’d take it as a positive sign too if I was counted among people like Bill Gates. Who has achieved quite a bit, professionally and financially (I see your bait to tirade against Common Core and I will not take it. Not here, anyway).
What I find interesting is that while this montage appeared onstage, Beyonce allegedly shouted, “Even the greatest can fall.” Do I think Justin Bieber is one of “the greatest,” whatever that means? Absofuckinglutely not, obviously. Do I think that he thinks he’s one of “the greatest,” whatever that means? Hells to the yes. This kid makes his manager take porno-style selfies to post on Instagram, for God’s sake. And that’s just what he did yesterday. That barely scratches the surface of the delusions he’s under when it comes to accurately seeing himself. So that’s what I’m choosing to believe Beyonce meant when she said “the greatest.”
Because I am slightly delusional when it comes to accurately seeing her as a flawed human being (shut up, we all are).
