Our Five Favorite Magical Women of All-Time

This post was brought to you by Lifetime

We wanted to celebrate the return of Witches of East End on Sunday, July 6 at 9pm ET/PT on Lifetime by listing five of our favorite magical women of all-time. Whether it’s their sass or awesome supernatural powers, we think you’ll appreciate this list of witch-y ladies.

1. Snow White’s Queen
Probably the most glam of all witches, Snow White’s queen sure can rock that purple eye shadow and red lips combo. Although everyone was cheering for innocent Snow White, we were glad that the queen added some much-needed edge to balance out the yawn-inducing princess.

2. Glinda of Wizard of Oz
All of us breathed a sigh of relief every time radiant Glinda stepped on the scene of Wizard of Oz. Her affinity for glitter and rhinestones made us want to cheer as much as her sweetness to poor Dorothy!

3. Winnifred Sanderson of Hocus Pocus
Arguably Bette Midler’s finest role, we adored Winnifred’s saucy ‘tude back when we were 6 years old, curled up on a couch eating candy corn, and even more than ever now. Without Winnifred Sanderson singing “I Put a Spell On You,” Halloween just isn’t Halloween.

4. Hermione of Harry Potter
There’s a little bit of Hermione in every girl. This “insufferable know-it-all” made womankind proud with her arse-kicking magical skills and refusal to let any boy beat her in her game. On top of that, Harry Potter would’ve died at least 20 times already without her quick-thinking spells and charms. We heart Hermione!

5. Joanna Beauchamp Witches of East End
She’s powerful, free-spirited and gorgeous. Joanna Beauchamp is one of the most powerful witches of all-time and we love how fiercely protective she is of her daughters. We dig her loyalty to her family and are anxious to see what the Beauchamps will do to cure her poisoned body in the new season of Witches of East End, which premieres Sunday, July 6 at 9pm ET/PT on Lifetime. Check out this teaser video for a little taste of what’s to come!
