Miley Cyrus Is Calling Out Selena Gomez By Saying The MMVA Voting Was Rigged

Miley Cyrus pointing GIFThe Much Music Video Awards were last night, but the drama from said awards has extended all the way into the daylight hours, with Miley Cyrus saying that the voting was rigged. Ohhhh dammmnnnnn gurrrlllllll!

Well, she actually didn’t say exactly that. Instead, she invented some sort of Tweety Bird language in which every word starts with ‘w’, which she used to post a very mysterious message on Twitter.

Hmmmm. I don’t have my decoder ring handy, but I think I cracked your code. Miley appears to be referring to the fact that Selena Gomez beat her out for Favorite International Artist, which I’ll agree is mad sketchy. After all, there were three Miley songs from the past year that made a serious impact (‘Wrecking Ball’, ‘Adore’, and ‘We Can’t Stop’), a performance from last year’s VMAs that people still can’t stop talking about, multiple record-breaking videos, and a tour that was selling well until she was sidelined by that mysterious hospital stay.

Meanwhile Selena has one song that I remember (‘Come And Get It’), zero memorable performances, and canceled the last few performances of her tour to go to rehab, which isn’t the worst thing, because it was A. pretty lackluster and B. already plagued with rumors of lip-syncing. And yet, Selena supposedly raked in 20 million votes despite the fact that only 97,000 people bought her album ‘Stars Dance’. Seems pretty suspect.

My only theory is that the MMVA’s might have been trying to lure Selena out of her downward spiral with a delectable little trophy that doesn’t come from the Kid’s Choice or Teen Awards, which are her usual stomping ground. That’s a little white lie that I feel like both Miley and I could get behind.

You are retarded, my friend. Firstly, ‘SELENATORS’ (Selena’s fandom) out stand Smilers. They buy Miley’s album because she has great music, not because they like her. Nobody takes her seriously anymore. She shouldn’t have accused it publicly, lose with grace and class. Who would vote for Miley when she’s an entertainer made from strip clubs? For fucks sake, use your talent wisely. Would you vote for someone who promotes drugs?
Would you vote for her after she dissed Selena at her concert? That’s just low and immature. Selena’s taking this situation with class. You don’t see her tweeting Miley bullshit, do you? I mean, if Selena dissed Miley at her concert, Miley would have a tantrum on twitter. Vote for CLASS not TRASH.
Selena is so talented and down to earth. She respects her younger fans and calls them her ”littles” Whereas, Miley doesn’t give a fuck about nobody. Yes, ”It’s your life, do whatever you want” but, please have some decency. Selena is not only caring and loving, she is VERY talented. She’s a great singer, wonderful actress, UNICEF ambassador, etc. Behaving Badly has recently been released and the audience adores the movie. Rudderless and 13 Reasons Why, Hotel Transylvania 2 are yet to be released.

This website is total crap. When you talk about artists and their situation, talk with fucking respect.

    • Alexis Rhiannon

Hey, just heads up, we don’t use that word here. The word ‘retarded’.

Also — Selena has been to rehab, no? So why is her drug use less of an issue than Miley’s?

    • Daisy

Selena doesn’t promote drugs. Nobody knew she had an addiction. There’s a difference.

    • Alexis Rhiannon

Because she contributed to the negative stigma of addiction by hiding hers, we should be proud of that? I disagree.

    • Stacy

Miley is PROMOTING drugs. Whereas, Selena is doing drugs in secret. I don’t see why there is a need to share one’s problem with the public? Selena isn’t promoting drugs, is she? I don’t fucking think so. Anyways, selena own and it’s only ignorant people like you who think it’s rigged.

    • M_G

“Whereas, Selena is doing drugs in secret.” And……this is acceptable behavior to you? Selena is better than Miley because she hides her self-destructive habits? Teaching her fans that it’s okay to do drugs as long as they don’t go public, that’s a good role model in your opinion?

    • stacy

You’re dumb as fuck. Some people would rather distinguish their problems to the public. She has younger fans, she doesn’t want them to know about it. Would you want the world to know about your poblems/disorders? There are situations where you should keep away from the public. It’s not something that she’s proud of. Miley’s encouraging others to do drugs and go naked at her concerts. I literally have no faith in humanity. Ignorant people like you is the problem with this world. To be fucking honest, if you’re gonna lose, lose with grace and class. Don’t start a tantrum on twitter. She’s embarrassing herself, really. I don’t really care who’s side you choose, but please, Selena is a human too. She works hard at her job. She doesn’t deserve this. Give her a break. She fucking earned this award.

    • Megan O

In my opinion, an excessive amount of curse words always invalidates an argument.
Also, you sound like a pre-teen with your choice of words and your inability to create multiple coherent sentences. That ALSO invalidates an argument in my opinion.

    • M_G

Hmm….mmhmm….okay, let’s take this line by line:

“You’re dumb as fuck.” Awe! I love you, too.

“Some people would rather distinguish their problems to the public.” This is the first of many grammar mistakes. Go look up the meaning of the word “distinguish”. We’ll review later.

“Would you want the world to know about your poblems/disorders?” If I lived my life in the public eye as Selena does, I would take the opportunity to educate my fan base about my struggles with whatever it is that she really went to rehab for (much like Demi Lovato did). I certainly wouldn’t hide behind a fake facade.

“There are situations where you should keep away from the public. It’s not something that she’s proud of.” Well, unfortunately, a) she’s a celebrity and b) she went to rehab. There is nothing wrong with getting help. Nobody is saying otherwise.

“Ignorant people like you is the problem with this world.” Your words cut deep, stacy. And here I thought this conversation was going so well….

“To be fucking honest, if you’re gonna lose, lose with grace and class. Don’t start a tantrum on twitter.” As opposed to starting a tantrum on a celebrity gossip blog, like yourself?

“Selena is a human too.” As is Miley, yet you certainly don’t seem to pay her the same regard as you do Selena. After you look up the definition of “distinguish”, continue down until you get to the word “hypocrite”.

“She works hard at her job. She doesn’t deserve this. Give her a break. She fucking earned this award.” You seem to be getting awfully worked up over ONE twitter comment. Chill out. I guarantee Selena isn’t wasting this much time and effort worrying about it.

    • dynn

Why’s everyone making it about drugs when she didn’t go to rehab for those reasons?

    • M_G

I didn’t say anything about drugs, but to be honest, I wouldn’t be surprised if that was part of the reason she went to rehab.

    • FemelleChevalier

Yes, people should be afforded their privacy when it comes to personal matters. I can agree with you on that one.

But you see, your stance is that since Selena is doing drugs in secret, then she should be lauded for keeping it secret. That’s absurd and just as bad as Miley doing drugs in the open. They’re both doing drugs, period. Selena shouldn’t be excused just because Miley is flaunting it, thereby making Selena the “tame” one. By comparison, she really isn’t. Who was in rehab, Selena or Miley?

You’re being called out on your hypocrisy, double-standard, and selective criticism against drug use. Just because you like someone better doesn’t mean that she is better in this particular scenario.

    • Alexis Rhiannon

Do you have scorn for Demi Lovato for opening up about her own struggles in hopes of helping her fans with similar issues?

    • gie

ALEXIS R. IS RIGHT, SELINA GOMEZ BEEN TO REHAB IN REALITY. YOU SEE MILEY CYRUS NEVER BEEN TO REHAB MAY NEVER BE EVER THOUGH MISS MILEY C. YOU SAID PROMOTED DRUGS? WHICH I SUSPECT MOSTLY JUST A WAY FOR PUBLICITY,OTHERWISE, I WILL TELL MILEY CYRUS IS JUST PLAYING WITH ALL OF US, BESIDES MILEY CYRUS HAS A MASTERAL DEGREE IN SELF PROMOTION, THE WAY TO HER COVETED 7 TROPHY ALREADY AT THIS VERY MOMENT (2014) INCLUDING 3 AWARDS AT THE “WORLD MUSIC AWARD”. BOY, THAT’S BIG. KNOW TOO THAT MILEY CYRUS MOSTLY WANT TO BE HONEST AND WILL TELL TO YOUR FACE BLUNTLY AND WILL MOSTLY BEING HONEST WITH YOU.
      ,

    • M_G

This comment makes my head hurt for several reasons…..

    • Alexis Rhiannon

Thank you for agreeing with me, but this is a lot.

    • Isabelle

Well I think it’s perfectly fine for people to keep things in private, some people handle things better that way and don’t feel the need to get others involved or to talk about. And some find the opposite therapeutic. I think people should cope with things in their own way without feeling forced to do something to appease others. Selena shouldn’t be forced to discuss an addiction if she doesn’t want to. But I doubt she had a full blown addiction. I got the sense it was getting out of control and that when she left her tour and sought help. But that’s just my assumption.

    • CMJ
    • selena gomez

Why would you care anyway? It’s her life. Not everyone must share their problems to the public. Some are still healing, it’s just too early. You think Demi shared her story to the public right away? No. You can’t just go like ‘Oh, I have a problem. Wait, Let me just tell everyone about it’

And for your information, Selena did speak up about her problem. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U9GPTgZbcXQ Do your research.

    • M_G

First, caring about the goings-on in the lives of celebrities is quite literally Alexis’ job as a celebrity gossip blogger. I cannot for the life of me understand why that’s so hard for people to understand. Secondly, this whole thing started because “Queenlena” suggested that Selena going to rehab put her on a pedestal above Miley Cyrus, who publicly endorses marijuana, etc. I applaud Selena for getting help (for whatever it is she really went to rehab for) I really do. BUT, and this is important: Selena Gomez is a celebrity. She lives her life in the public eye, just like Miley Cyrus. So she is going to be exposed to the same level of scrutiny. Having a problem and getting help for it certainly doesn’t undo all of the other great and awesome things she has done and continues to do. But it doesn’t mean that she is immune from making poor decisions, nor does it mean that everyone is going to like her.

    • g

WHERE HAVE YOU BEEN, EVERYBODY KNOWS SELINA GOMEZ WENT TO REHAB AND EVEN JUSTIN BEIBER CAMP VALIDATED THAT SHE DOES DRINK AND DO DRUGS. SHE’S SEEN DRUNK SEVERAL TIMES. DIG IN BABY!

    • selena gomez

Don’t use her personal problems to compete them. That’s just low, don’t you think? Selena tried keeping her situation where she left for Rehab a SECRET because she isn’t an attention whore like *cough* Miley *cough*

    • Alexis Rhiannon

There’s no shame in going to rehab — everybody needs help. I just don’t think it’s cool to shame one celebrity for doing drugs while praising another one for doing them and just keeping it a secret.

    • Nbl

I don’t think you used the word “compete” right.

    • Liliana ForeverYoung

She wasn’t there because of drugs. Everybody knows that. She was there because of fatigue and emptiness.

    • capoupascap

I find the fact that you believe that charmingly naive.

    • JenH1986

In general, they don’t let someone who is tired into rehab. Why? Because people with addictions need those beds. So…yea.

    • M_G

      You’re adorable!

    • Alexis Rhiannon

What exactly does rehab for emptiness entail?

    • FemelleChevalier

Do you mean depressed? Because not all depressed people go to rehab, but there’s no shame in going if it helps an individual.

    • Nbl

“Fatigue and emptiness” aren’t legitimate reasons for rehab. They are however, great reasons to order a pizza.

    • Alexis Rhiannon

In that case, I am suffering from emptiness as well, because I self-medicate with that pretty much once a week.

    • SCC

Do you have proof Selena went to rehab for drug use? No you don’t. Like I said before:
      Be professional with your comments
      Do research

Miley actually has a drug issue. She obviously can’t control herself enough so she doesn’t have the will power to stop herself from doing drugs on stage at an awards show.

    • CMJ

Your entire statetement is invalidated by your use of the word “retarded.”

Classy people do not use that word.

    • selena gomez

This whole article is invalidated by the amount of disrespect.

    • M_G

If you could please point out what you find disrespectful about this article, that would be super helpful.

    • Isabelle

I think it was a joke because she’s “Selena Gomez”

    • Liliana ForeverYoung

Oh, you’re so right! Actually, it hurts to read this. It’s not true! To be honest,
“Adore you” wasn’t a good single. “Slow down” is more popular now. In Russia, for example, it’s still in charts! Miley does really good music. She has many fans, it’s right. But it doesn’t mean that ALL of her fans were voting for her in Twitter. But Selena’s WERE. So, she eventually got this award and that’s all. She is talented. She has a lot of Selenators. They were voting. They did it for SELENA. What’s wrong? Is it so difficult to just be happy for your colleague? Selena doesn’t tweet anything bad about Miley, so why does Miley do?

    • Haley Keller

I’m not going to comment on the majority of your comment, but I do want to point out that you said this: “They buy Miley’s album because she has great music, not because they like her.”

The entire award is supposed to be based around music anyway? I know that a lot of the time this stuff isn’t, but you can’t say you think Miley’s music is good and then that she shouldn’t have won the award when the award is supposed to be based on music, not Miley’s personality or how well she’s liked or anything like that.

I’m not commenting on anything more than that (although I’m also angered that you used the “r” word) because I don’t have a problem with either Miley or Selena. In fact, I’d consider myself a casual fan of both. But that statement makes no sense.

    • Nbl

I thought your name said Hellen Keller. I’m having a dumb day. :(

    • Haley Keller

Surprisingly, that’s the first time anyone’s ever said that to me. (But my elementary school classmates used to ask if I was related to her.) That’s understandable though. I read names wrong all the time. Haha.

  • Isabelle

I think Miley’s songs are more substantial and meaningful than Selena’s but I don’t watch award shows and think these awards carry no weight. Robert Redford and other bigger celebrities say even the biggest awards are rigged in some ways because it’s a “business”.

  • Emma

Why are you defending Miley? she’s a jelous hoe and her fans wasn’t voting, they was using “tweetdeck” to win. Selena have more followers/likes and fans than Miley and never asked for votes because she’s lowly. Miley is a bitch on drugs and she’s just wanna attetion because she lose this awards. Fuck her

    • Liliana ForeverYoung

No, Miley is good singer. But her behavior now it’s NOT normal. It’s looking like she’s jealous. She could be happy for other talented singer like Selena. But apparently she wants to row …

    • Alexis Rhiannon

If this really is about talent, then there’s no reason for you to throw around words like ‘bitch’ and ‘ho’.

    • Nbl

She actually said “hoe”. I believe Miley has been magically transformed into a gardening tool. She’s obviously “jelous” that she doesn’t have a digestive tract. I suspect Sabrina the teenage witch.

    • Alexis Rhiannon

      You’re totally correct, my bad.

    • Rochelle

I’m just in complete shock because if your English. Is it your second language or are you just a bit illiterate?
Anyway, personalities aside, votes should have been garnered through record sales, performances, etc whether Miley is a “hoe”. In the future, please write your comment in Word before you post. The red lines mean you misspelled something.

    • M_G

Based on your comment, I am not sure you should be calling out other people for poor grammar….

  • Kae

This is ridiculous. Aren’t you supposed to be a journalist? Insulting one of the celebrities you’re writing about and taking sides ruins your credibility. You and Miley must not have been on twitter during voting to see that at one point there were 200k more tweets on #SelenaForMMVA than #MileyForMMVA. How can you rig the amount of tweets on a hashtag? You can’t. Album sales and songs that YOU remember don’t matter when it comes to the kind of voting the MMVA’s has. The voting is simple and fans can vote hundreds, thousands of times. The voting isn’t rigged. Miley has been in this business for as long as Selena, she shouldn’t be so catty when she doesn’t win an award. But I guess when you vote for yourself 9 times and you still don’t win, your pride takes a hit.

    • capoupascap

Alexis is actually a celebrity blogger. She gives her opinion, and can definitely take sides. It’s not really too complicated to realize this is a blog not a legit news source. Now having said all that I’m not convinced it was actually rigged like Miley is alleging. Selena had some rabid fans. And I actually agree that Miley should be classier than this.

    • M_G

THIS! I am constantly amazed by the amount of comments that read like, “HOW DARE YOU CALL YOURSELVES JOURNALISTS!!!!! RABBLE RABBLE RABBLE!!!”

    • capoupascap

Yeah, people say that shit all the time. It’s pretty astonishing that in 2014 people still do not know the difference between blogger and journalist.

    • Alexis Rhiannon

At least five times a week, someone tells me to go back to journalism school or says something is ‘journalism 101′. I love it.

    • CMJ

I crack up every time I read that…..

    • Alexis Rhiannon

      You and me both.

    • Alexis Rhiannon

Haha, exactly. Never did, never will!

    • Alexis Rhiannon

      Agreed on all counts!

    • M_G

“How can you rig the amount of tweets on a hashtag? You can’t.” O_o? BAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!! Okay….okay. I am not saying the voting was necessarily rigged, but we need to clear this up right now. Speaking as a computer science professional (and someone with basic knowledge of how the freaking internet works), you are completely and utterly wrong. It is VERY possible to so exactly that.

    • Kae

Okay, do you have some kind of example or proof? Or am I just supposed to take your word for it?

    • M_G

I am not sure how old you are, but if you’re an oldie like me (taken here to mean in your late 20′s to early 30′s), then I am sure you remember the days of AIM and “bots” and things of that nature. Twitter accounts work the same way (sort of). All a computer savvy person (with nothing better to do with their lives) would have to do is write an algorithm to populate dozens or more dummy accounts and spam status updates with the hashtag of their choosing. Then one real person could cast hundreds of votes. And again, I am not saying that this happened. Only that it COULD happen. And this is only one way. I am sure there are others, too.

    • Alexis Rhiannon

Oh crap! AM I supposed to be a journalist?? Nobody told me!

    • Kae

Well considering this is the first time I’ve even heard of this site, apologies for not knowing who you are.

    • Alexis Rhiannon

      Apology accepted.

  • lol

I guess you don’t know how voting works right?
Jealousy makes her look bitter, and you as a journalist just as bad.
If she keeps losing to selena then her fans aren’t doing their job, meanwhile selenas do.
You forgot to mention that it was a WORLWIDE tour and not only people from canada were voting since you know, its international! you can take miley’s side all you want but you can’t just take away everything selena’s done to make miley seem like she’s greater.
You really took the opportunity to go for the low blow and used selena going to rehab, she went there for a reason, (regardless of what it was), to get help. Zero memorable performance? Im pretty sure if selena got basically naked and grinded on some guy she’d have a memorable performance right? At the end of the day selena won because her fans voted, and you want to get mad just becausethe person you wanted to win it didn’t? stay bitter.

    • Alexis Rhiannon

I have absolutely no stake in who wins or loses at the MMVAs, if I’m being honest.

    • M_G

Fair enough, as long as you promise to stay bitter. I think that was lol’s major concern.

    • Alexis Rhiannon

Oh yeah yeah yeah, I totally promise!

    • Silver

I think you should be careful how you word your articles. Of course it is your choice but I just want to say the part about Selena and rehab should not be taken lightly and thrown around the way you just did.
Many young women refuse to accept help for their issues because of fear of backlash like this… Admitting you have a problem and seeking help is a strength and the way you worded your whole paragraph seems irresponsible given how many young females (and males) visit this site. It is no problem preferring Miley or saying Selena is untalented but let’s be human and empathise with those who have weaknesses.

Take it or leave, just a concerned person here.

    • M_G

All of Alexis’ comments where the rehab stint is talked about only praise Selena for getting help, etc. Nobody is suggesting it be taken lightly or dismissed. And in the actual article, all she said was Selena went to rehab (there was no spin on it). What paragraph are you referring to?

    • Silver

I really don’t want to argue.
The fact that she decided to indicate that Selena should not have won because among other things she “cancelled the last few performances of her tour to go to rehab” is what I am talking about. I am saying a lot of young people visit this site and shouldn’t have to read suggestive phrases like that. But again, it is her article not mine. Have a good day.

    • M_G

I am not trying to argue with you. I sincerely didn’t know what part of the article you were talking about. For what it’s worth, I think the emphasis there, given the rest of the paragraph, was the fact that she canceled the last part of her tour. Rehab was the reason, but the cancellations were the main argument there. I don’t think she was saying “Rehab is the problem.”

    • Alexis Rhiannon

Correct. My point was that she didn’t even finish her tour, whereas Miley is on tour now.

    • Seriously?

…. mmmm I will just take a very random guess and say… I don’t know… maybe the part of the article that actually specifically references Selena Gomez and her work??! lmao @ this.
I too felt that the Selena part was harsh, but people can say whatever they want so whateves. Its your right.

With regards to the article, the award was not for ‘best singer’, ‘best tour’ ‘most viewed’, most talked about’ or even ‘most talented’… IT WAS FAVOURITE SINGER, WHO PEOPLE LIKE, or at least WHO PEOPLE WANT TO VOTE FOR…even if Miley’s video was most watched or most talked about it also has a lot of dislikes and a lot of ‘indifferents’… It really isn’t rocket science. Miley is talented no doubt, but the Selena fans really did vote this time (annoyingly so) – it is not even a measure of talent, because if it really was, lets be honest here both MILEY AND SELENA wouldn’t even have been nominated in this category. But who honestly cares about this? …. Oh, of course, Miley does.

    • M_G

Hello, Seriously. So glad to hear from you today. Let’s discuss this. First of all, your guess, while delightfully passive-aggressive, was wrong, because that wasn’t the part Silver was talking about (which you would have known had you bothered to read her comments or mine before posting your own). So the rest of the first paragraph of your comment is irrelevant because it has nothing to do with the rehab comments (which is what Silver was talking about). Second of all, TYPING IN ALL CAPS ADDS NOTHING TO YOUR ARGUMENT AND ONLY MAKES YOU SOUND LIKE A PETULANT TEENAGER. Third, you, too, obviously care about this, since you felt compelled to a) read the article and b) comment on it.

If you have any further comments or questions, please do not hesitate to contact me.

    • selena gomez

for fucks sake, stop arguing with everybody. nobody gives a crap about your opinion. stop trying to prove shit. you’re goddamn annoying. selena is and will always slay miley.
don’t even dare to reply, bye

    • M_G

I rarely follow the blind orders of annoying Internet trolls such as yourself. Also, you are one to talk, since you created a new account specifically to argue with everyone on this thread who doesn’t share your opinion. I was responding to a comment someone left me. Take a Midol and calm down.

    • M_G

Blogger. She’s a blogger. Not a journalist. Also, what does Canada have to do with anything?

  • M_G

Wow….evidently, garnering some rabid, loyal-to-the-point-of-insanity fans is one of the perks of dating/not dating/dating Justin Bieber (possibly the only perk). Granted, Miley wasn’t showing the greatest amount of maturity by accusing the voting of being rigged, but damn, you’d think Alexis accused Selena of murdering puppies based on the comments section here. CHILL THE EFF OUT, everyone!

    • Alexis Rhiannon

      THAT PUPPY MURDERING WAS RIGGED.

  • April

Isn’t weird that voting ended 10 mins before the award was given to Selena and she still had an acceptance speech ready?

    • M_G

No, not really. At most award shows, all the nominees have speeches ready beforehand in the event that they win.

  • Elizabeth Aspen

The very definition of the ‘Mean Girl’. I can’t wait till this beyotch completely ruins her career and is over and done with.

  • Nbl

I’m too tired for this amount of crazy right now. I’ll be back after coffee

    • Alexis Rhiannon

      Gird your loins!

    • M_G

Oooh! Are you going for coffee? Can you grab me one, too?! I’ll have the cash for you when you get back. Large ice, extra milk only. Thanks!! (God, now I really want iced coffee………)

    • Alexis Rhiannon

I would love a scone if it’s not too late.

  • Yeah

I don’t think it was rigged. It was fan voted so selena’s fans probably just voted more (and that’s not surprising considering this comment section. They’re obviously pretty fanatic). Either way I think Miley’s tweet wasn’t very mature. It’s just an award and her whining just seems like more of her attention seeking in my opinion. Miley tries SO hard to get people to talk about her, I desperately just want everyone to stop talking about her completely. Celebrities complaining about stupid things makes me want to roll my eyes into the back of my head.

    • Alexis Rhiannon

Yeah I agree. It was a shady move that she wanted people to write about. (And mission accomplished!)

    • Isabelle

But how do any of us know without a doubt the tweet was even directed to Selena? I think these fan voting shows are so silly anyway, nothing to get upset over.

  • Mathias Vandekerckhove

Sorry but do you live under a rock?? She had slow down on nr1 billboard of dance and her album stars dance was nr 1 on billboard. This just proves that classy is better than trashy.

  • 30dBRebecca

I guess it is curious that Selena beat out Miley for Favorite International Artist – given Miley’s success on the charts this year, her tour, and twerking genius. But the Crowd says it’s Selena, in volume and sentiment. Compared to #MileyforMMVA’s pretty good 59% positive in Twitter, #SelenaforMMVA does better with a 66% positive index and nearly 30% more in tweets. Maybe all those semi-nude selfies aren’t working for Miley these days after all. Wust wayin.

Alexis, even though your argument is strongly supported I still have to disagree with
it. The award is for FAVOURITE international artist/group not award for artist
with the most publicity. Sure Miley has gotten lots of media attention
for her 3 singles and wild performances but let’s not forget that a
lot of this attention was negative and did not necessarily gain the biggest
following. Selena on the other hand may not have been that successful musically
but she has one of the largest fan bases made up of avid young kid/teen followers
who have followed her since her Disney days. People often underestimate the
power and the lengths youth fandoms go to support their favorite
celebrity/artist especially through social media and it’s evident that this is
not only present for Selena but for other young celebs/artists as well. Selena’s
somewhat ‘goodgirl’ image has helped her retain loyalty with her followers
which helped her get the votes. Miley’s new image made her lose those young
followers. This is why it came as no surprise to me when Selena won. Anyways
this is just an outside view and not really a fan of either of them :)

SERIOUSLY…WHERE DO YOU COME WITH THIS SHIT? Rehab for DRUGS??? Did you get a confirmation on that? Yeah…I think not! People do go to rehab for other matters besides substance abuse. 20 million? Hmmm… I thought Much Music tweeted that it was over 50 million votes. 97,000 people bought her album? WTF …in the first couple weeks Stardance sold over 650,000 copies. I would advise you to get your facts straight baby girl before you try to discredit a WORLDWIDE pop star. YES, I said it….WORLDWIDE!!! She is loved and respected by millions not only for her music but also for her ongoing message for girl empowerment!
In my opinion, Miley is still pissed that Selena stole that #moonman last year for best pop video for “Come and Get It” at the VMA’s ANYTIME she is up for award with Selena her claws come out! LOL

B….”already plagued with rumors of lip-syncing” Uhhhh…well lets take a look at Miley shall we http://youtu.be/q7K5db9IeRM YEP…she was caught lip syncing while kissing Katy Perry. (her vocals were still playing during the smooch)

You’re literally so pressed…you’re using all of the shade that the smilers have used. Selena has the bigger fan following on Twitter and Instagram combined. Much Music already said she received over 50 MILLION votes.

Look at Topsy for an estimation:
On twitter alone Selena was ahead by 300,000 votes when the voting was closed
    Selena also won on Instagram

Selena didn’t even tell her fans to vote whereas, Miley, the thirsty dog voted for herself and still lost.

The only reasonable explanation for Miley’s tweet was because she was embarrassed that she lost after voting for her self 11 times over the period of two weeks.

If you’re going to be a professional writer for an article, put your personal feelings aside and have an unbiased opinion. By now we all know you don’t like Selena with your many posts attempting to shade her and failing miserably with your incorrect and invalid sources and story topics.*

    * Do some more research. Look behind the basic articles that pop up when you type “Selena Gomez” into google.

“If you’re going to be a professional writer for an article, put your personal feelings aside and have an unbiased opinion.” This is literally the opposite of what a celebrity gossip blogger is suppose to do. And, to reiterate, this IS a celebrity gossip website. This is NOT the New York Times.

Miley is a cunt plain and simple

    • M_G

Well gee, who can argue with such an eloquently stated opinion? Oh! I know….perhaps semi-intelligent people who don’t feel the need to resort to using words like “cunt” to get their point across?

Justin Bieber won for fan favorite artist at the MMVA despite all the very recent bad publicty.. Just goes to show everyone never underestimate the power of Justin’s fans or Selena’s.. Justin and Selena together are an unbeatable force to be recokened with, anyone who tries to go up against them in a popularity contest will come out the losing end. The voters have spoken and they voted for Selena Gomez as international artist and Justin Bieber as fan favorite artist for the 5th year in a row. What “racist” scandal? What legal drama scandal?? When push comes to shove those fan bases will step up.
