Justin Bieber Apologizes For His Second Racist Video, And This Time There Are Bible Quotes!

Justin Bieber has released another apology for the second video this week depicting him saying something racist. In case you’re still reeling from the first racist video, let me catch you up. Yesterday a second video surfaced featuring Justin, who was apparently 14 at the time, singing his song “One Less Lonely Girl” and replacing the word “girl” with the N-word. As if that weren’t racist enough, he then makes references to killing black people and the Klu Klux Klan. (You can watch below.) If two separate videos exist of him saying these things, who knows how many similar comments he’s made off camera.

Of course Bieber released another apology to The Sun that’s just as generic as the last one. Once again, I don’t believe for one second this was actually written by Bieber himself. If more videos like this turn out to exist (and it wouldn’t surprise me), will we just keep getting these form apologies?

“Facing my mistakes from years ago has been one of the hardest things I’ve ever dealt with. But I feel now that I need to take responsibility for those mistakes and not let them linger. At the end of the day, I just need to step up and own what I did.”

Well, it’s kind of hard not to own what you did when it’s right there on camera for the world to see. But maybe the next time one of these videos is released (and I wouldn’t be surprised if that happens soon), the apology will come from Bieber’s own mouth. Or is that too much to ask?

That’s not all, though. As he often does when he’s in hot water, Justin turned to the Bible to teach us all about sin and forgiveness. He posted the following passage on Instagram yesterday:

The problem with Justin Bieber (one of many) is that whenever he does anything wrong, he views himself as a victim. Poor, poor Bieber and his racism. He also continues to hide behind Bible verses and remind everyone of the power of forgiveness every time he gets in trouble. That’s not how you face responsibility for your actions, and I’m not confident Bieber will ever understand that.

I can’t stand the kid and I hope he leaves America now, but I’m cutting him a little slack here. 14-year-olds are vile creatures who pick up a lot of what they say and do from their parents, and his parents make Dina and Michael Lohan look like Mike and Carol Brady. At 14, he wasn’t just an ordinary kid, he had plenty of ‘yes’ people making money off him and exploiting him. I don’t know what it’s like to have an experience like that, but I do know what it’s like to be 14 and growing up with racist, homophobic, misogynistic relatives. I haven’t always been a saint with my words when I was that age but now I’m in my 40′s and know better. Maybe this actually WILL make Justin grow up. All it takes is the prospect of losing your career and money.

Nah, this won’t help him to grow up. As you said, he’s surrounded by people who cater to him – either they want him to remain on their label or they want to continue to hang on in the wake of someone who spends money like water. His reality is not our reality, and if his income starts to falter his response will be to blame the “haters.”

Nothing he does is his fault. And if there’s even the possibility he might have been at fault he will always quote the bible to remind us it’s OUR job to forgive him… and if we don’t, it’s our fault.

Yeah, he definitely hasn’t shown any proof that he has grown up or will any time soon, as long as he keeps responding this way.

I know how it feels to be a victim. This kid has already caused me to exceed my weekly allotment of popcorn. Whoa is me.

Hang on while I grab my bible for a couple of appropriate popcorn verses…
