Leighton Meester Had A Crush On Adam Brody Before They Met, And It’s Like Join The Club

Leighton Meester Adam Brody New York May 2014

Today in “OMG you guys, stop being so adorable, I can’t stand it, STOP” news, Leighton Meester had a crush on Adam Brody before they even met. A long time before that, actually. That’s according to what an anonymous source told Us Weekly. But I’m going to believe it’s true, because I would hate to live in a world where a person could lie about something so sweet and lovely. That would just be evil.

Here’s the deal:

“She says she always had a crush on him,” according to the insider. “She was so nervous to work with him!”

Leighton and Adam worked together on the film The Oranges, which came out in 2012 and has a 33% on Rotten Tomatoes. But what isn’t rotten is the fact that they fell in love and got married as a result. And even a sucky movie can’t detract from the adorableness of Leighton Meester having a crush on her future husband before they even met.

Of course, it’s not exactly surprising, considering this is Adam Brody we’re talking about. Also known as Seth Cohen. Also known as Dave on Gilmore Girls. Also known as cute and funny and generally crush-worthy. I don’t think it’s possible to look at Adam Brody without developing a crush on him, no matter your sexual orientation. I’m pretty sure dogs pass him on the street and go, “Wow, what a cutie. I wanna marry him.”

The only difference is that Leighton Meester actually did marry him. Because when you’re a celebrity and you look at another celebrity and think, “I wanna marry him,” the chances of that actually happening are much higher. But despite their celebritiness, they’ve still managed to keep things low-key and seem like a normal couple, if the paparazzi photos of them are any indication. Ready for things to get even cuter? That anonymous source also said they make sure to stay in contact when they’re apart: “He texts her the sweetest notes.” Can I marry both of them?

But seriously, was there anyone out there who didn’t have a crush on him. And because he played a “dorky” character on The OC belived she had a real chance with him?

I have no idea why The Oranges got such a bad rating. It was an adorable flm.
