Beyonce And Jay Z Finally Respond To The Solange Video, But Answer Zero Questions

Jay Z and Beyonce attending The Met Ball May 2014After four days of silence, Beyonce and Jay Z have finally responded to the video of Solange attacking Jay in an elevator in the Met Ball. FINALLY. The rest of us responded on Monday when the footage first leaked, and then kept responding and responding and responding as rumors kept flying around, but the Carter-Knowles Family has been silent up until now.

Well, officially silent, anyway, excluding the staged photo ops of Jay and Solange shopping for jewelry, Solange removing a Met Ball photo from her Instagram, and the flood of photos onto Beyonce’s Instagram of herself posing with her sister and Rihanna, whose party was a supposed source of conflict on the night of the Met Ball. We’ve all had four full days to absorb and interpret these social media clues, which is plenty of time to come up with our own individual theories about what went down. Dozens of possible reasons for the fight have been suggested so far, from Solange being intoxicated to Jay refusing  to promote her as an artist, to Solange finding out that Jay was cheating on her sister, and trying to fight Beyonce’s battles for her.

These are all options with variable levels of viability, but if you believe the statement from the Carter-Knowleses, they’re all wrong. What was the real cause of the fight? FAMILY. Here’s the full text of the statement that was released to the Associated Press:

“As a result of the public release of the elevator security footage from Monday, May 5th, there has been a great deal of speculation about what triggered the unfortunate incident. But the most important thing is that our family has worked through it. Jay and Solange each assume their share of responsibility for what has occurred. They both acknowledge their role in this private matter that has played out in the public. They both have apologized to each other and we have moved forward as a united family.

The reports of Solange being intoxicated or displaying erratic behavior throughout that evening are simply false. At the end of the day families have problems and we’re no different. We love each other and above all we are family. We’ve put this behind us and hope everyone else will do the same.”

Who among us hasn’t stood silently by as our younger sister assaults our husbands? That’s just part of being a family, and there’s nothing weird about it at all, no sir. Glad we got that all cleared up…

“Jay and Solange each assume their share of responsibility for what has occurred” I’m sorry I cannot hold Jay-Z “responsible” for what she did to him in that elevator. Would we hold Solange “responsible” for her “share” in it, if he was kicking her? Right.

“The reports of Solange being intoxicated or displaying erratic behavior throughout that evening are simply false”. So she wasn’t intoxicated or erratic – throughout – the night. She just became soberly erratic once they got in the elevator? I’ll buy that for a dollar!

Jay-z and Beyonce needs to grow up and stop Solange from ruining their marriage, her’s is already ruined, therefore it’s about time they cut the cord and learn to handle their business.. why is she all in her sister’s business? what happened to a man in her life, Jay is Beyonce husband not Solange

Yeah, your business contracts are private matters alright.*eyeroll*
I think Beyonce’s facial expressions during the incident have been very telling.
