You know that thing when you’re out in public somewhere and all of a sudden for whatever reason, you just wish you had somewhere to hide? Well that happened to a guy on the red carpet at Cannes today, and the place he elected to conceal himself was under America Ferrera‘s dress. You know, as you do.
America is at the festival to promote her movie How To Train Your Dragon 2, and was posing for a photo with the rest of the cast when a man stormed the red carpet from the sidelines and put his head under the lining of her Georges Hobieka gown. And being that it’s white and the outer layer is tulle, you can see his face pretty clearly under there in the photos that Just Jared put up. It’s supremely creepy, even just in these photos from the back, where you can see security getting ahold of the guy to remove him from the scene.
Listen man, I thought the dress was really lovely as well, but we do still live in a world where we don’t express feelings of admiration by putting our faces up things, right? Just verifying that we’re not traditionally supposed to just launch ourselves at things we like. Even if you are trying to hide.
Although I will say, if you’re gonna be comforted by one person after a traumatic experience like having the head of a random stranger up your skirt, let it be Cate Blanchett, America’s Dragon co-star. Look at the gentle strength of her concerned hand on America’s arm. Can I be their friend please?
