Forget about everything happening with Solange and Beyonce for a minute and pay attention to the newest and most important celebrity feud happening right now — the one between Taylor Swift and her cat Meredith. It’s certainly been brewing for a while, and it looked like Meredith was just one forced Titanic viewing away from snapping. In a new interview, Taylor makes it extremely obvious there’s beef between them, and not the kind Mer eats out of her cat dish.
It all started earlier this month around the time of the 2014 Met Gala. That’s where Taylor and her BFF Selena Gomez reunited and made a cheesy montage proving there’s no bad blood between them. But the same couldn’t be said for her and Meredith, as the cat finally sought her revenge in a merciless dress attack Taylor never saw coming. Here’s what Taylor tweeted when it first happened:
That moment when your cat casually walks up,then abruptly ATTACKS your custom satin Oscar de la Renta gown during your fitting for Met Ball.

But now, thanks to a new interview with People, Taylor is revealing what really happened, and the details are sickening. Apparently Meredith approached the gown to “make a home inside of it.” But things got much more violent, as Taylor explains. Just a warning, it’s not for the faint of heart.
“She just passed, dug her claws in and started to roll … like when you see a crocodile attack an antelope on National Geographic,” explained the star, 24. “That’s what she tried to do to the dress.”
And so began Meredith’s revenge. However, if you think Taylor’s going down without a fight, you’d be wrong. I’d bet there’s a song about the incident on the horizon, but until then, she’s resorted to throwing shade. After saying Mer “fancies herself quite the hunter” (Do I detect sarcasm?), here’s what Taylor had to say about her cat’s ultimate failure in destroying the gown:
“She’s a chubby housecat. She’s not very strong!”
Uh oh, did you hear that, Meredith? Taylor just threw down! Everybody grab some popcorn, choose a side, and move this feud to the top of your “to follow” list. I’m personally with Meredith here. Fat-shaming is low, Tay Tay.
