By now I am sure you have seen that incredibly creepy video of Frozen recut as a horror flick. More like, do you want to build a nightmare? Am I right?!
Speaking as someone who saw one third of The Ring over a decade ago and still has trouble sleeping, I can say that horror movies aren’t really my cup of tea. In fact, if I were to list the top ten things I am afraid of, all ten item of the list would be “long haired swamp children climbing out of wells and into my home.”
I try to stick to the friendlier stuff like, 500 Days of Summer or Dumb and Dumber so imagine my horror when I found this dark corner of YouTube full of my favorite movies recut as some of the scariest trailers I have ever seen.
I mean I knew Photoshop could do a scary job on people but I had no idea just a sprinkle of some ominous music and a dash of shadows could turn some of the kindest movies into haunting nightmares.
Check them out for yourself, if you dare!
1. Mary Poppins
2. Mrs. Doubtfire
I never realized Mrs. Doubtfire was actually a movie about a stalker and home invader.
3. Pee Wee’s Big Adventure
Pee Wee is already terrifying but congratulations for making him nightmare material.
4. Home Alone
This makes the terrifying concept of being left home alone and forgotten ten times worse.
5. Dumb and Dumber
Dumb people are scary to begin with but this is more like Scary and Scarier.
A fun fact about myself is that I have never seen Titanic and now I never will.
7. Forrest Gump
There was a period of my life when I watched Forrest Gump every night for a month. Suddenly that period feels eerie.
8. 500 Days of Summer
Honestly, I always found Tom a little creepy in this movie (like, dude, CALM DOWN), but this trailer somehow makes it worse.
9. Back To The Future
Slash To The Future. YIKES! It was just a simple weather experiment…
And finally, Frozen, but more like Fright Fest. This is the terrifying tale of a young sorceress who kills everyone she loves. Her only friends are a terrifying snow monster and her gloves.
