I wasn’t really wondering if Jon Hamm and Elisabeth Moss were dating, but the more times he denies it without me asking, the more I start to wonder. And not necessarily that the two Mad Men costars are dating in real life, but that there might be something up in Jon’s long-term relationship with fellow actor Jennifer Westfeldt. SCANDAL!
The two of them have been together since 1997, but since they’re both working actors, they don’t necessarily get to see each other all the time. Particularly right now, while Jennifer is performing in Steven Soderbergh‘s Off-Broadway production of The Library. If you have a strong enough conflict, like, say, your husband’s movie premiere, a show can typically give you the night off, but apparently Jennifer is just as uninspired by Million Dollar Arm as we are, and she was conspicuously absent on the red carpet, prompting a reporter to ask about her.
“Unfortunately Jen can’t be here tonight because she’s on stage in New York City.”
Far far away from here, and far far away from Jon. Since Jennifer needs to be in New York for her show and Jon needs to be in Los Angeles for…whatever, they’re actually dating long-distance right now.
“I’m back [in NYC] every two weeks. So I pop back and forth.”
Only seeing each other once every two weeks, huh? Kinda makes you understand why the Elisabeth Moss rumors cropped up in the first place. But everyone around him is deny-deny-denying, saying it’d be ‘crazy’ if they hooked up, and adding, that Jon’s been in New York quite a bit lately, supporting Jennifer.
“They are good friends…they have been on the same show for years. They are the best of friends, but never would I expect anything romantic. They are like family.”
Methinks the unnamed source doth protest too much!
