Andrew Garfield Rides School Bus With Underprivileged Kids To His Premiere, Then Adds ‘Actual Angel’ To Résumé

Andrew Garfield SmilesAndrew Garfield surprised a group of underprivileged kids and rode with them on a school bus to the New York premiere of The Amazing Spider-Man 2. And just like that, Model Human Andrew Garfield changed the celebrity press tour game. Word around town says that as he ascended onto the bus, a real life halo and pair of angel wings sprouted from his body. But those are the town’s words, not mine. (Okay, a little mine.)

Whether or not you believe that VERY likely situation, it’s safe to say that there are figurative angel wings nuzzled beneath this guy’s shoulders because he is the best at melting my little old heart. With the exception of that recent hiccup involving Andrew making that sexist comment, he has just been nonstop tugging on my heartstrings. And believe me, I’m not complaining. I would never complain in one million years. Because I like nearly happy-crying to videos of him enabling Emma Stone’s Spice Girl obsession and I really like reading stories about him being adorable with children, especially when it involves charity of some sort.

So, from the bottom of my melted heart, thank you Andrew for giving me yet another reason to gurgle happily at the wonderfully endearing things that you do. I am an adult human and am gurgling with happiness, so I shouldn’t even need to say that this was really cool of you. But, in case you have a thing about people tooting your horn or whatev, you’re awesome. Now, let’s see another movie-promoting-slash-genuinely-fantastic-person find a way to top arriving with an entire bus full of children to a premiere that they would have probably never been able to attend otherwise. Spoiler alert: it’s probably not going to happen any time soon.

The kids were from the Lower East Side and were being rewarded for their volunteer work. They were psyched to just meet Spider-man himself and join him on his ride to the premiere but Andrew surprised them at the end with tickets into the theatre (they didn’t know they were going in to see the movie too!) Andrew was also at a Bronx school today reading “Oh, The Places You’ll Go” by Dr. Seuss to a group of first graders. The pic is so cute… I love all the little things he’s doing for the kids. It’s kinda perfect b/c that’s what Spider-man is all about and that’s what sets him apart from all the other superheroes :)

Wow, I wasn’t even aware of those details so thanks for sharing! That makes me SO much happier and melty in the heart area.
