Season 2 of Orphan Black premieres this Saturday on BBC America, which means you have approximately 24-hours to catch on this amazing clone drama before you become completely irrelevant in the cult television world. For those of you who are so out of the loop that you’ve never heard of it, let me fill you in.  The show is about a woman named Sarah (Tatiana Maslany) who realizes that she’s not the only version of herself out there in the world. It turns out that there are a half dozen identical versions of Sarah running around — all of whom are played expertly by the amazingly talented Tatiana Maslany. It’s basically like watching Lindsay Lohan in The Parent Trap… if Annie and Hallie found out that they were the results of a cloning conspiracy instead of just victims of poor parenting choices.

If I trust what Gwyneth Paltrow tells me, acting is really hard, so it’s pretty incredible that Tatiana Maslany can play not one but several characters within a TV show. (Seriously, girl, I hope you’re getting paid per character.) In honor of Season 2 of Orphan Black, we rounded up five facts about the amazing star of the sci-fi series.

1. She’s a Canadian, eh?

The Saskatchewan native is Canada’s apology for Justin Bieber.

2. She starred in two teen soaps before Orphan Black.

She played Zeppelin in the last season of TeenNick’s Instant Star (which I didn’t even have to Google, because I was the biggest fan of that show ever) and Heartland, which, from the clips I watched on YouTube, seems to be about horses.

3. Patton Oswalt is obsessed with her.

You know you’re kind of a big deal when Patton Oswalt calls you “the best actress alive.” Forget an Emmy — all you need is Patton Oswalt’s seal of approval to know that you’ve officially made it.

4. She got her start in improv.

Long before she was playing clones, she was stretching her comedy muscles in a professional improv troupe. She is a member of the General Fools Improvisational Theatre.

5. She won the 2013 Critics’ Choice Award for Best Actress in a Drama Series.

The first-time nominee beat out Claire Danes, Vera Farmiga, and Elisabeth Moss… and yet was totally snubbed of an Emmy nod that same year. Here’s to an Emmy win in 2014.

She’s so great in Orphan Black- I regularly forget that she’s played all of the characters, as she does such a great job making each of them fully realized individuals.
