Miley Cyrus Is In The Hospital, And For Something Other Than ‘Exhaustion’ For Once

Miley Cyrus hospitalized April 2014I have good news and I have bad news, you guys. The bad news is, Miley Cyrus is in the hospital right now and she’s gonna be missing at least two shows on her Bangerz tour because of it. But the good news is, she’s not using a lame excuse.

You know how some celebrities say they’re hospitalized from ‘exhaustion’ when really they’ve just been abusing their bodies by partying too hard on not enough sleep? Whether or not that’s what’s going on here, she’s not calling it that, and I totally appreciate Miley for that.

Her concert in Kansas City, Missouri was canceled last night due to her hospitalization with a ‘severe allergic reaction to antibiotics’, causing the Sprint Center (the arena where she was due to perform) to release the following statement:

“Cyrus has been hospitalized for a severe allergic reaction to antibiotics and has been placed on medical rest by her doctors. She will not be able to perform as scheduled.”

And after hearing from some understandably disappointed fans on the internet, Miley released a statement of her own via Twitter.

It’s good that she’s getting great care, but that doesn’t make any of her fans feel any better. Especially those of them that think she’s faking it.

I could be wrong, but I think Miley and her team are telling the truth about what’s going on with her, medically. First of all, Miley doesn’t strike me as the kind of performer who’d go out and get wasted before a show, and second of all, if she had, there’d be pictures of it all over the internet.

But either way, it sounds like last night’s show isn’t the only one she’ll miss, because while I was writing this post, she tweeted that since the hospital is unwilling to release her today, she’s not going to make it to her scheduled St. Louis show tonight, either.

Whether you believe her or not (I do!), you gotta respect the girl for trying to help out her fans and putting her own neck on the line instead of waking up her team. Props, girl. Feel better.
