You might as well get rid of your fingers entirely, ladies, because Zac Efron’s abs are reportedly no longer available to be touched. According to E! Online, Zac is now dating Halston Sage, an actress starring in the new movie Neighbors. A movie Zac also happens to be starring in. And it comes out in less than a month. That’s gotta be super convenient for publicity, eh? I’m sure it’s just a coincidence, though, right?
Meeeehhh. Let’s go over the deets before we get too deep into conspiracy theory territory. Here’s what that good ol’ anonymous source had to say about the couple:
“They are definitely an item,” a source tells us. “They were seeing each other a bit during filming of their movie together and ever since he went to rehab they got a lot closer. Her friends love him and say he is so sweet. He’s really good to her.”
They were also photographed looking smiley and adorable and totally public at a Lakers game earlier this month. Less than a week after that, Halston and Chord Overstreet (Trouty Mouth from Glee) announced their breakup. Halston and Zac didn’t go to the MTV Movie Awards together, but Zac attended with the social media manager for Neighbors. So it would look like he’s pretty serious about promoting this movie. Serious enough to enter into a PR relationship?
This is of course just a suspicion based on the convenient details of their relationship. And there’s no non-sourcey confirmation that they’re even together, let alone that it’s fake. And sure, some celebrity couples really do fall in love on set together and end up having happy marriages and beautiful babies and juicy divorces. It just seems a little too ideal that they’ve known each other since filming the movie a year ago and are just now becoming an item when it’s time to promote their movie. Kinda like when a couple whose name rhymes with Schmobsten was rumored to be pulling off a PR stunt to promote their movie.
Just putting that out there in case these two break up right after the premiere so I can say “I told you so,” which is my favorite phrase.
