Jennifer Lawrence Dressed Up Kinda Like A Bride At Her Brother’s Wedding

Jennifer Lawrence bridesmaid at her brother's wedding April 2014Jennifer Lawrence was a bridesmaid at her brother Blaine’s wedding recently, which is totally adorable and she looks beautiful, don’t get me wrong. But she also looks like she’s wearing a wedding dress, which has me a little confused.

The wedding was documented in the ‘Real Weddings’ section of Martha Stewart‘s magazine called, appropriately, WeddingsAnd let me reiterate again, it’s so adorable, and everyone looks great and happy and everything. If I could make a chalk drawing like Mary Poppins and jump into it, I’d already be sipping champagne and housing wedding cake with J-Law, believe you me. I just can’t imagine I’d have drawn the wedding scene with white bridesmaid dresses, y’know?

I’ve always heard that you shouldn’t upstage the bride at her own wedding, and I feel like being the most famous person on the planet and wearing a dress that’s the same color as hers is a great way to do that. Don’t you think? And beyond that, it creates a dangerous potential for some sort of romantic comedy-esque mix-up where the wrong lady goes down the aisle and the priest is confused or drunk or something and accidentally marries them! He’s near-sighted after all, and as soon as he saw an ivory-clad lady coming at him, he launched right into the vows and they were man and wife before they knew it!

It would be called Brother Wife, and I think it’d honestly clean up at the box office. Especially if J-Law was in the lead role. But it’s also the kind of caper that could easily be avoided if you just threw Jenn into a jewel-toned gown so mistakes like these don’t even get close to happening. I’ll have to assume it didn’t, since I haven’t gotten any Google Alerts about Jennifer being married to her brother, but I think we can all agree we came dangerously close.

I thinks since she’s a Bridesmaid, that the Bride must of picked the color of the dresses. So she knew it’d be similar. But I agree, gorgeous!

      • Alexis Rhiannon

Yeah I agree, it must’ve been the bride’s decision. Just not one I’d seen before!

So sweet!…Jennifer Lawrence looks so beautiful. I love J.Crew bridal…It’s a lovely wedding photo.

      • Alexis Rhiannon

        Gorgeous, right?

    • RLT

What a pointless article. Talk about making something out of nothing based on pure speculation of a cropped photograph…. it’s not even the same colour!

      • Athena

Yes, you are correct regarding the color of the bridesmades gowns….they are a very, very pale pink, actually…so pretty!.

      • Alexis Rhiannon

Ah, gotcha! Very hard to tell from that photo!

      • CMJ

It’s called champagne…..and I can tell you from experience that that color looks good on approximately 3% of the population (Jennifer being one of them)

Alexis not being one of them.

      • CMJ

Me neither – I had a friend who had two colors we could pick one was champagne and one was truffle. I have an olive complexion but good GOD that color made me look like I had jaundice.

      • Alexis Rhiannon

Oof, I would’ve been in bad shape with either of those. If we’re talking about food, I gotta stay away from truffle and champagne. Berries are my only friends.

      • CMJ

The truffle was NOT much better. And the dress was $350 and ripped. I f-ing hate bridesmaid dresses.

      • Alexis Rhiannon

        Ugh. The worst.

      • JLH1986

Ha ha THIS was why I told my girls get what you want as long as it’s some version of a dark blue. The most expensive dress was like $30…and they actually CAN wear them again!

        Thanks for reading!

In case you don’t know how the bridesmaid thing works, it’s generally the bride who picks out the dresses for the maidens. My maidens also wore white dresses – it was a Greek wedding and we all wore Grecian goddess dresses.

      • Alexis Rhiannon

        Sounds beautiful!

What I think is horrible how all other 10 chicks chose to outshine the bride. I mean that’s what you can expect from JLaw but these other nice underexposed people. A scandal, I say, a scandal!

        Hahaha, exactly!

    • Kenzie

It’s not like the bride and groom didn’t know that’s why she would be wearing. And anyways, a priest would have said their names and one of them would have said I do and one would say I don’t. So this article is just very far-fetched to me

    • ChopChick

I’ve actually seen a whole bunch of weddings recently where the bridesmaids also where white/ivory/super light pink. I think it’s very in.
