Hugh Jackman is charming. There’s really no denying that. Anyone who tries to deny that at this point is probably getting him confused with someone else. “No, not Hugh Johnson, the guy who stood you up at prom,” their friend will say. “Hugh Jackman, the handsome triple threat who’s literally made of sunshine.” And then the person who denied his charm will most likely apologize profusely for their mistake. But if they still deny it, they can just watch this video of him singing “Wolverine The Musical.”
Hugh recently appeared on BBC Radio 1′s The Matt Edmondson Show and was asked to sing a a silly song to promote X-Men: Days of Future Past set to the tune of “Who Am I,” which Hugh famously sang as Jean Valjean in Les Miserables. Not only does Hugh agree to do it, but he sings it like he’s been rehearsing for days. Sure he’s reading the lyrics from a sheet of paper, but he puts everything he’s got into it and doesn’t stumble once. Well, except for that rough note at the end. But we’ll forgive him for that because he reacts so adorably to it. He also appears to be genuinely enjoying himself, a quality which unfortunately doesn’t come along that often in Celebrity Land.
You really couldn’t ask for a better video to watch on a Monday morning. Or a Monday afternoon or evening or any day of the week, really. If you’re able to make it past that giggle he lets out at the beginning upon glancing at the lyrics without melting into a puddle of happiness, then you can go ahead and watch the whole thing. And then before you go to bed tonight, pray as hard as you can that someone turns this into a full-length musical. I really want to watch Wolverine explore his identity even further through the power of song. I know I’m not the only one.
