Kesha (or the Artist Formerly Known As Ke$ha) walked the red carpet last night, marking her first major public appearance post-rehab. Not only has she abandoned the dollar sign and reverted back to her birth name, but apparently she’s rid herself of the “negative influences” that caused her to develop an eating disorder and enter rehab in the first place. I’m classifying this news under the Category of Celebrities Who Give Us Hope right next to Amanda Bynes’ happy family pictures from last week.
According to a “friend of Kesha’s” (Really, People magazine? Aren’t you, like, the legit and trustworthy tabloid?), the pop singer has a positive outlook and a determined attitude:
“She has eliminated all of the negative people and influences in her life. She has surrounded herself with only supportive and loving friends and family. Kesha is back to practicing self-love and is at peace with herself. She’s found her inner strength and focus again.”
While I’d love it if she left that gold tooth back in rehab along with the dollar sign, it’s honestly great to see her looking so happy and healthy. [Side note: is Kesha's "friend" secretly Gwyneth Paltrow? Because that statement sounded suspiciously GOOP-y to me. This "friend" practically said that Kesha "consciously uncoupled" from rehab.]
