Bad news, you guys. New evidence points to the fact that Leighton Meester is officially luckier than you and me, even on our best days. She’s got that whole marriage to
Adam Brody thing going for her and has now proven that she’s also the owner of an awesome voice. Other “a” words that could be used to describe it are “angelic,” “amazing,” and “ayeee, that’s not fair.” Because when you’ve got all that Leighton’s got in her life arsenal, do you really need a fabulous voice and guitar skills? Truthfully, no one actually needs those things but it would just seem that she needs them a little less than, oh I don’t know, me.
I knew that she made an attempt at a music career in 2009 with the pop single “Somebody To Love,” featuring Pre-Creep Robin Thicke. And that she also did a bit of singing a year later in Country Strong with Pre-Divorce Gwyneth Paltrow. But these stripped-down acoustic vocals feel so different. And by “different,” what I mean is “a million times better.” So, here she is, in all of her soft-lit beauty and sweet musical glory, just crushing it with her friend and partner-in-talent, Dana Williams. They’re singing Fleetwood Mac’s “Dreams,” as in “you are only as good as we are at this music stuff in your dreams.”
How are any of us normals supposed to live up to this bar that she’s placed way above our heads? Take it easy, Leighton, and give me a chance to catch up. You’re, what, 27 years old? Just give me 1 or 2 or 27 more years and I’ll be almost there.
