A Guy On Scandal Is Wanted For Assault, Could Really Use Olivia Pope Right Now

Columbus Short as Harrison Wright on ScandalOh shit ya’ll, it’s about to get real life Scandal-y in here, because one of the show’s stars just had a warrant issued for his arrest.

It’s Columbus Short, who plays Harrison Wright on the show, and he’s wanted in connection with a bar fight that took place earlier this month. According to TMZ, Columbus was at Gabe’s Bar and Grill in Los Angeles on March 15th, when he got into an argument with another bar patron who was there celebrating a newly-engaged couple. He said something along the lines of “You might be richer than me but I get my girls to buy me everything I want including your wife”, and then promptly got knocked out by Columbus, who came up from behind and sucker-punched him right around 10:45pm.

(And on a related note, now might be a good time to bring up my suspicion that the TMZ office is run by a team of Animagi, able to turn into literal flies on the wall, Rita Skeeter style. Otherwise I have no idea how they get the information that they do.)

But anyway, the victim of the attack was knocked unconscious for a few minutes and had to go to the hospital with a broken nose, so Columbus is being charged with felony aggravated battery. You get that when you cause someone seriously bodily injury, so it’s not joke, and carries a maximum sentence of four years in a state prison. His bail has been set at $50,000.

Now typically someone in this position would turn themselves in, but Columbus has yet to do that, and I’m wondering if it’s because he’s waiting for the real life Olivia Pope to show up? That Kerry Washington will come breezing through the doors and make all this go away? Yeah I don’t think that’s gonna happen buddy. It sounds like you hit somebody, and hit him pretty hard, so you should probably take responsibility for your actions and turn yourself over to the police.

Put on the white hat, be a gladiator…just do the right thing, seriously.
