Good Luck Watching Justin And Selena’s ‘Sexy’ New Dance Routine Without Dying Of Cringe

Justin Bieber Selena Gomez dance video 2014

Justin Bieber and Selena Gomez keep thinking of new ways to let us know they’re back together… without ever actually saying “Hey guys, we’re back together.” Their latest ploy for attention involves two Instagram videos posted by Justin depicting him and Selena practicing a dance routine to John Legend’s “Ordinary People” in front of a mirror. I’ve seen it described as “sexy” and “romantic,” but I think a better word would be “creepy” or “OMGWHYYYY.” Yes, that last one is a single word I just invented to describe this exact situation. Go forth and make it a thing.

The videos were posted last night but have already been taken down, because everything celebrities do these days seems like a nightmare the next morning when we wake up. Thankfully one of the clips has been uploaded to YouTube (full experience here). Fingers crossed it stays there so we can spend the rest of the day cringing at it like masochists. It’s amazing how much a person is capable of cringing in a mere 11 seconds. For a moment it felt like my face would be frozen in a cringe position forever more. To be fair, I cringe at practically every celebrity story I read, so it’s been building up.

It’s hard to say which part of this video is the most disturbing. There are just so many things to choose from. There’s the fact that Selena keeps falling back into Justin’s sleeve-tattooed arms despite having eyes and ears and one would presume a brain. I mean, did she watch those deposition videos? There’s Justin’s outfit, featuring undie-baring saggy pants and no shirt — a total cliché. There’s the moment when he pins her against the wall, then the moment when he lifts her up like they’re posing for the poster for a romantic comedy. Ugh, I can’t even type the words without getting a bad case of the heebie-jeebies. Leave your vote for the most cringe-worthy moment in the comments, and then maybe we can bring some order to this chaos.
