Another day, another rumor about Jared Leto hooking up with someone. I’ll admit that the prospect of him getting together with Lupita Nyong’o excited me, but it was mostly just because they’re both incredibly talented and attractive people, and I would love for them to pass that talent and attractiveness on to a baby. But this new report about Jared hooking up with Miley Cyrus goes beyond wanting them to have babies. Is it just us, or do these two seem like the kind of couple that could actually work?
According to Us Weekly, Miley, 21, and Jared, 42, are “hooking up,” which in Hollywood I would place somewhere between attending the same award show separately and getting married. A source reveals, “She stayed over at his house in L.A. in early February.” A second source adds that they’ve “known each other for a while.” And yet a third source says, “They like to have a good time, they love to talk about art and music — and they’re both comfortable with nudity!”
Jared apparently “doesn’t do girlfriends,” according to a pal who talked to Us. For a currently unofficial relationship, a whole lot of people seem to know about it enough to comment on it, but no matter. Let’s imagine it’s true. I don’t think Miley would object to a lack of commitment. Her lips have been connected to all kinds of people since she called off her engagement to Liam Hemsworth, and she’s always talking about how much she loves being single. These two could be perfect for each other.
Sure, they have a 21-year age difference, but they’re both so weird that it could totally make up for that. I mean, Jared Leto kept a severed ear someone sent him. Miley put a fan’s thong in her mouth. They both have edgy, androgynous hairstyles. They’ve both posed for creepy Terry Richardson photos. They both act and sing. In other words, they’re a match made in WTF heaven. At a time when every new celebrity couple seems to be either fake or totally mismatched, this one seems to actually make some sense… even if neither of them necessarily makes sense as an individual human.
