Kendall And Kylie’s Novel Has A Cover, Which Means We’re One Step Closer To Hate-Reading It

Kendall and Kylie Jenner have been able to call themselves a lot of things — “model,” “fashion designer,” “magazine contributor.” I’ve come to terms with the fact that they get to do everything I can’t, because nepotism. Actually, not even nepotism. Nepotism implies that your relatives achieved success of their own merit. The whole Kardashian klan is just one long nepotism chain with no clear end. That chain has now turned Kendall and Kylie into novelists. That’s right. NOVELISTS. I could not be more excited to curl up with a warm cup of haterade and mock their work.

Kendall and Kylie “wrote” a sci-fi novel called Rebels: City of Indra, which is coincidentally the exact title I would say if you asked me to tell you the most cliché sci-fi novel title I could come up with. It is not, as I first expected, the exciting story of a robot named Ryan Seacrest who discovers a family of fame addicts and genetically engineers them to take over the world with the help of their evil genius matriarch. It’s actually just “a thrilling dystopian story about two super-powered girls, Lex and Livia, who embark on a journey together, not realizing their biggest danger might be each other.” All together now: SIGH.

E! Online has revealed the cover of the book, which features a drawing of an eye reflecting what E! calls “a female body succumbing to a beam of light.” They then add, with seemingly zero irony, “Ooh, the suspense!

Despite the fact that their names are at the top of the cover, Kendall and Kylie did not put pen to paper all by themselves. Then how would they have time to be “home schooled” and keep up with their fakelationship assignments? They collaborated with “cowriter” Maya Sloane. I obviously can’t know for sure, but I’m willing to bet that collaboration involved Kendall and Kylie sitting in a room shouting random nonsensical ideas at Maya and then telling her to write a book for them. And it could be a series! This first installment will be out June 3. God bless us, everyone.

    I don’t know if I can even bring myself to hate-read this…

But it’s “a thrilling dystopian story!”

If only I had a nickel for every time I’d read that on a book cover, I’d…have enough money to pay someone to write and publish my novel….

The world was almost without Harry Potter, but good thing Kendall and Kyle have enough money to pay someone to write a book for them AND have it published.

But people with genuine writing ability are constantly turned away. If only I was famous no reason *shrugs*

They have a true talent… for having no talent.

I braved through the mess that is Twilight, so I think I can (probably) brave through this book. And speaking of that horrible, fan-fic level of abomination, I think Kylie and Kendell’s book will sell. A lot. Because tweens. *sigh*

And why isn’t the “other” author included in the cover?
