Can Someone Please Explain What Is Going On With Farrah Abraham And Vivid Entertainment?

Farrah Abraham I'm Not A Porn Star VH1

I mean, honestly.  I can’t keep up with who Farrah Abraham decides she’s going to be on a daily basis.  An MTV star?  Check.  An “author”?  Check.  A porn star? Sure.  A stripper?  Why not?  A virgin? Umm… okay?  Someone who has to take a lie detector test to prove she’s lying about being raped and beaten in order to receive royalties for her second porno? Wait… WHAT?  Yeah, that’s the latest character Sybil Farrah has decided to embody these days.

Apparently Farrah, ever the publicity hound, decided she just wasn’t garnering enough attention through her odd, more-than-a-little-sad solo stint on VH1′s Couples Therapy and the release of her second porn, so she decided to publicly lament the way she lived her life while promoting her porn star image last year, because she was “repeatedly drugged, raped, and beaten.”  Look, I would never take such allegations lightly if they came from the filler-less lips of literally anyone else besides Farrah Abraham.  But let’s get real here.  She’s not exactly someone I’d define as mentally “well”, or a reputable source of factual information (anyone remember the “Feminism?  That’s like, a lesbian, right?” thing? Yeah.) so let’s just halt those pitchforks and burning torches for a second.

Looks like Vivid Entertainment’s CEO, Steve Hirsch, maker and distributor of her sex tapes pornos, is none too happy about their loose cannon star making such allegations:

“Farrah has seemingly made a cottage industry out of telling lies. She now says that she was drugged and raped more than once while she was promoting her first sex tape last year. We challenge Farrah to take our sanctioned polygraph test to prove whether or not she was telling the truth. If she passes the polygraph test, we will give her $1 million.”

To be fair, I’m not sure how reputable a Vivid Entertainment-sanctioned lie detector test is, either.  No word yet from Farrah on whether she’ll take them up on their offer – probably not because it’s kind of ridiculous, but because she’s definitely a liar, is my guess.  Either way, Farrah, Jewel Of Enlightenment, isn’t going anywhere anytime soon.  With any luck, this debacle will churn out another hit: Through The Side Door: Multiple Personalities Teen Mom sounds like an interesting way to end the trilogy.

Umm…. really? This is a hideous ad hominem argument. I could use your exact reasoning as something that would go through the mind of the person who may have done those things to her. I’m not saying that it did or didn’t happen, because that’s not for me, as someone totally outside of the situation, to say.

People with lip injections, liars, and mentally unstable women get raped, too. Don’t get me wrong. I think this girl is an attention-seeking, misguided, unintelligent, trashy person, but god, if you absolutely had to say something about it, why not just mention the incident and let it sit for itself? I understand that this is your blog and you can say what you want, but you can’t just tell people to “halt those pitchforks and burning torches” and expect that to happen when what you said doesn’t sit right with them.

I agree with you completely. No matter what she’s said or done in the past, she needs to be taken seriously. There’s always the chance that she’s telling the truth, and if she is, then something needs to happen. I actually have had someone lie to me about being raped before, but if she came to me again and told me she’d been raped, I’d still take her completely seriously. It’s better to believe someone and be wrong than to dismiss what they’re saying and not get them the help that they need.

You are insane. Drugged and raped repeatedly? That’s why she kept promoting her porn show appearances. This piece of crap has lied so many times about everything and you want to believe her on this? So no police report right? She shares when she takes a crap but she wouldn’t say anything about this until she was on a reality show with a duck lipped quack? Living a life if stupidity must work well for you.

    • Haley Keller

I’m completely aware how unlikely it is, but you have to take accusations of rape seriously no matter how unlikely they are. If you start making exceptions, then eventually people who were really raped are going to be ignored too. It’s better to take everything seriously. You’re right that it’s probably a lie, and if it is, that will be confirmed. It doesn’t mean that it should be dismissed without any confirmation.

    • Fritz the. At

You do a disservice to real victims by giving credence to this woman’s lies. And no, not ALL allegations of rape need to be taken seriously. Dilusional liars like Farrah who makes up stories to get attention needs to be mocked, dismissed and embarrassed. Don’t you look at the facts before you pronounce that she needs to be taken seriously? She damages real victims, she damages her kid, she damages the people she was with while she partied hearty by accusing them of doing unspeakable acts. Here is what needs to be taken seriously… Allegations where there is some semblence of truth. You feel you are being fair by thinking there may be something to this but in reality, you are looking foolish and making it harder for real victims to come forward. Farrah should be punished for her lies, not find sympathy from people who live in la la land.

    • Haley Keller

I don’t see it like that at all. The way I see it, if you mock ANYONE for saying they were raped, then real rape victims may be scared to come forward because they can’t be sure if their own stories will be taken seriously. Of course they know that they’re telling the truth, but how do they know that the rest of the world will be able to see that if they’ve seen someone else who wasn’t taken seriously? They could be so scared that their own story will be seen as ridiculous that they can’t find the courage to come forward. Obviously, it is absolutely horrible that anyone would ever make up lies about rape, and when it becomes confirmed that she’s lying, she should be punished. We can absolutely agree on that. But it’s also important for real rape victims to see that all accusations get taken seriously, so that they don’t have to worry whether or not their own stories will be taken seriously if they decide to come forward. It’s extremely unfortunate, but there are too many cases these days where real rape victims aren’t taken seriously, even when they have credible stories. It sucks, but it happens all of the time. Real rape victims don’t need another story where a rape accusation wasn’t taken seriously, no matter how ridiculous it is. That only feeds the idea some people have that most rape accusations aren’t true, and it makes it harder for rape victims to trust that they’ll be taken seriously.

An how do you propose proving she is lying? Her accusations are so general it’s impossible to prove. All we have are the circumstances of her fabulous tweets, her history of lying and oh yeah, her history of lying. Good people are getting hurt because of her lies due to people like you who believe she may be telling the truth. Nothing she says adds up, none of it makes sense. The forum she used to reveal this bull is also a fact that she is lying. Repeatedly raped and drugged? Not once but over and over again. She is pathological and no real victim is going to hide if we take farrah for what she is. A lying, dilusional famewhore who will say anything for attention. She counts on people like you to get her daily dose of sympathy.

Haley, the fact that Farrah hasnt replied 2 Vivid’s offer a million $s already says alot2! If she’s is telling the truth dont u think she woulda jumpd on that offer immediately? Hell yeah! She’s ignoring this media attention (a 1st 4 her by the way) waiting 4 it 2 go away & that says alot bout her honesty on the matter. She knows she will fail it. As women, generations have been investd in strict rape/drug laws protectn us, & its deplorable 2 b lying 2 the World bout such a life altering matter. However, it will b a stain on the web 4 her 4evr along w/the stills of her naked bondage photos. A horrible legacy 4 her baby daughter.2. Plus, she owes Vivid some kinda respect. They R paying her rent these days, whether she admits 2 her new career or not. I mean who’s gona hire/work w/her now?

And that’s how you should treat someone in that situation.

Additionally, it’s kind of shocking that the writer of this post ignores the abuse that many women in the sex industry endure because they feel they have to for their career’s sake.

Whether or not Abraham is lying is irrelevant when it comes to speculation based on her character; these claims should always be treated seriously until something more conclusive comes about.

    • Cassandra Hough

I think she’s mentally unstable, a known and proven liar, and someone who will stop at nothing for attention. I also feel that because of those things, she takes authenticity away from herself, her words, and actual abuse victims. I don’t claim to know everything about every aspect of her life experiences, but I stand by what I said.

    • HB

      As acknowledged, that’s your right.

Did you ever see Teen Mom when Farrah was a cast member? She is a bit nuts. Also, a manipulator and a liar.

    • Reality

Farrah is now the “the boy who cried wolf”. There are so many lies from her that only time had to prove as such. No, I don’t believe her. It is obvious this was all said and done to distract the release of her 2nd tape. It is sad, for there are victims out there who have suffered greatly from rape and beatings. She tweeted up a storm about her appearances and the fun she was having. She eagerly went to the other clubs. If she were drugged and raped, why did she not call the police? If she did not feel comfortable calling the police after the first incident, all she would have had to do is contact Vivid management, they would have protected her, for they had to protect her, their assets and reputation. She is a proven narcissist, pathological liar and sociopath. Most sociopaths are just born that way.

    • HB

I just feel that all of that is irrelevant this early in the game. “Why didn’t she call the police?” Lots of people are too ashamed to do so. I know a girl who was date raped and never reported it, because she felt that the police would laugh her out of the station because it happened at a club after 1 a.m. when she had already been taking shots. This girl was a “real abuse victim.” Happens all the time. Vivid Management **might** have protected her. Can’t assume that anyone in that line of work is going to come to the aid of a girl they’re exploiting.

I’m not saying she’s not lying; I’m saying it’s really rotten to assume that her case has zero merit based on the fact that she’s lied before and worked in the sex industry.

    • Fleur

Vivid Management, like any other company, would hate to lose money over petty things. And the mere fact that they offered so readily is a sign that Farrah may not be telling the truth. Yeah, performers get “abused” in porn industry – they are mostly those who aren’t smart enough – but they do get protected, believe it or not. And the mere fact that Farrah is known, would they risk their reputation by not responding accordingly to her rape allegations? Because if what she’s saying is true, then the lie detector challenge will seem like a mocking to an “alleged” raped victim, and is that good for business?

The only way to prove if she’s lying or not is if she agreed on the lie detector test. If she accept it, then she’s good. And if she’s lying, then she’s a terrible human being that not only mocks the true abused victims, but also not a good “employee”.
