Guys, I can’t even put into words how I’m feeling after watching The Fault in our Stars trailer. I mean, I’m going to try, because my job is putting things into words. BUT OH MY GOD. It look so good that I’m having trouble handling myself. My hands are shaking and my heart’s beating fast and I haven’t felt this sensation in my body since I drank a liter of Surge in 5th grade.
Even though I’m a tad out of TFIOS’s demographic, I devoured the book this year. Just took a fork and knife and ate the whole thing up. It’s one of the funniest and saddest stories I’ve ever read and if I could make everyone read it, I would. Including Beyonce. Because there’s no one in the world too good to read this amazing book.
However, right after reading it, I started to get nervous as to how it would translate to the big screen. After all, cancer’s pretty depressing and the book’s pretty uplifting and I feared it would be hard to capture that complex combination on screen. Especially since Hollywood doesn’t have the best track record for turning books into movies.
But dagnabbit (and no I’ve never typed that word in my life before, but like I said, ALLL the feelings), this trailer gives me hope that they managed to do right by Hazel (Shailene Woodley)and Augustus (Ansel Elgort). Combine this trailer with their “offensive” poster released late last fall and I think we have a hit movie on our hands. You bring the tissues and I’ll bring the tears. Okay?
