Sometimes it’s hard for me to know when I’m exaggerating something. I keep my whole brain so focused on pop culture for 8+ hours a day, that sometimes I get carried away with my opinions and find myself shouting allegations at parties like “Beyonce used a surrogate!” “Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart were never really together!” “Justin Bieber should be in rehab!”
But as tenuous and controversial as those first two statements are, apparently I was right on the money with that last one, as its wisdom is even be confirmed by Lucian Grainge, the president of Justin’s record label Universal. Normally when a tabloid wants a quote about a star in a downward spiral, they have to get one anonymously and slap the title ‘a music insider’ on it…but in this case the label president actually went on the record to say that Justin ‘needs help’ and ‘needs an intervention‘. Whoa. Serious times.
“I’m very concerned about him — I’ve been concerned about him for many months, and [Bieber's manager] Scooter Braun, who I work with very closely and is supposed to be here, is with him at the moment.”
Yes by all means, let’s make sure Scooter is on-site so he can be shocked by Bieber events that the rest of us saw coming from a mile away.
“This [has] to do with the young man … hopefully, we will all get through to him. You cannot just pick someone up and force them to do something if they are not ready.”
That’s great and all, but tell that to Britney Spears‘ team. That previous sentence describes her entire career.
“All of us around him need to take all the responsibility, all the pressure off him and give him support so he can address the issues he has — and he does have issues. And I’d like it to be dealt with.”
Man. Isn’t it sad that at this point, I’m super impressed when the adults around a child star take responsibility for not being good roll models to them? Just more proof that these are seriously desperate times.
